Description
I was in too much of a rush when I posted this yesterday, apologies... I left out a key element, the white hound , emblem of Canossa!
Matilda of Canossa (1046-1115), also known as Matilda of Tuscany, or simply ‘The Great Countess’, was a powerful 11th century Margravine in northern Italy. She is possibly the most illustrious European female military commander of the middle ages, and led numerous campaigns on behalf of the Papacy against Emperor Henry IV, against whom she was ultimately victorious. A contemporary historian observed:
"Brave and ever watchful, she often tormented the perverse
Mightily she undertook terribly violent battles with the king
For she endured steadfastly through thirty years
Fighting day and night to quell the tempests of the kingdom."
She is one of only 6 women to be buried in St.Peter's basilica.

what a great pose you've given her - such regal countenance. i've tried a couple times over the years to do similar poses [or rather pose + cam angle], and have not been able to pull it off - super job [i'm a touch envious...heh]

Kind of you to say... I find with characters like this, its as much facial expression as pose.... its amazing what you can do with a single raised eyebrow! ;)
