Description

This is kind of a few things, like much of what I do. It started with me messing with my Erin character (released as freebie) which was derived from Alexa (also a freebie) which was derived from original Erin (not released). In this case, I was also revisiting Python scripts I used for making expressions; essentially, masters for the la femme control handles, where a little bit goes a loooong way. When doing expressions, one of the things I've noted is that what works well as as expression for one character morph can look horrible with another. So in using the handles, I'm looking for a way to make it such that I can *tune* an expression for different characters. Which had me "youthify" Erin (who is already a stylized "youthified"la femme) even further. And yet, have the smile expression look... well, if not actually good, then slightly less scary than the la femme smile, on my morphed character. Then I felt I had to put her in a scene. There's not a lot of youthful clothing for la femme. At least, not for a girl, so I put her in my gymnast leotard as it was designed to handle scales well. Indeed, it did well at fitting, and took the couple HD and LF morphs with almost no poke-through. After having dressed her in a leotard, I had to stick a sort of "gymnastic" scene around her, so I "ezdomed" a backyard, threw a really plain mat under her, and shoved the whole thing through superfly (where I am not very good... I liked lux better but I haven't had time to mess with it). I think my lack of superfly skilz shows. I used ohki's Mayu texture because I like it. And I was curious if it would work on a kid(ish) character. I think so. BB's hair shader, of course. It's weird. Sometimes it renders quickly, sometimes not. I suspect it has a lot to do with the model. And, of course, superfly settings. Anecdotally, there seems a threshold that increases the render time dramatically. Or rather, there's a setting where it will look good, and going further doesn't make it look better but does take a lot longer. I'm sure smarter people than me are nodding. I have only the inkling that a clue exists, and am still a long way from having an actual clue. Anyway.... I'm thinking of releasing the young erin as another freebie character. And I certainly need to collect expressions into a "pack" of some sort. This is where Poser could help more than it does. After setting up a character, it would be nice if it was easy to create the pose files from it. As it stands now, it always involves hand editing to get exactly what you want, no more no less. And or scripting. Which is why a lot of stuff I've done just ends up trapped in PZ files and runtimes. Terminal laziness. There, I've admitted it. Happy??? I'm amazed at content creators for the sheer doggedness in releasing something of *any* quality, let alone all the great stuff they do. Hat's off to them! A virtual, un-morphed, and poorly textured hat. But still, discernible as a hat, with the right render settings.

Adorable, theonnes. I love your stuff. The pose and the expression are both very natural!

Thank you ^.^ Pose and expression is where I enjoy cgi. And by "enjoy" I mean obsess, in that borderline psychotic "it's never finished" artist way :D

Thank you ^.^

This actually started out as combing my runtimes for ideas for scenes in which to place Mayu. Then I got distracted with the control handles. Then with experimenting with them. As I was waiting for the renders, I went through cleaning up/organizing my runtimes. I noticed a couple of things: "Ohki-stuff" went back further than I thought. And wow, I have a lot of stuff from over nearly 2 decades of play O.O

My New Years resolution is to try to use most, if not all, of the scene stuff therein.

Oh, and I did come up with an idea for a Mayu scene :D
