Description

Lets face it its not been a stellar decade either for our society or our planet, what with the advent of the "post-truth" age, the surge in intolerance and the spectre of the collapse of our planetary ecosphere. Lets hope we can get our act together in 2020. On apersonal note, thanks to all my friends here and elsewhere for all your good wishes and support over a very trying year (I wont be sad to see the back of it!) and I hope 2020 brings you all peace, health and prosperity.

lovely sentiment and politically too close to the bone for the... hmm, people who seem to be voted into positions of power these days.
Taking Pareto as a guide, then if 80% of the wealth is in 20% of the population's hands (google what you will here) why is it we consistently vote that 20% into power to consolidate what they have and do what they like? As Cassius says to Brutus in Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, "The fault dear Brutus is not in our stars, but in ourselves, that we are underlings. Time to vote the trash out :) They serve no one but themselves.
The only significant social difference between 5000 years ago and now is that modern man has a rudimentary education, the corollary being "you can educate slaves, but you can't make them think (for themselves)"
