Description

No, not the the Enterprise of Captain Kirk. :-) USS Enterprise in 1962 on her maiden cruise. The aircrafts on board are F-4B of the VF-102 Diamondbacks, F-8E of VF-33, A-4C of VA-64, 66 and 76, A-1H of VA-65 and a detachment of VAH-7 with A-5 Vigilantes, of VAW-12 with E-1B Tracer, of VAP-62 with RF-8 Crusaders and a detachment of HU-2 with HUP helicopters. The flight deck is lighter with darker landing strip in 1962. The Navy had to experiment with the deck coating. In the mid 60ies the flight deck was dark only and the working coating was found and improved over the years.

Great render!! I like that you took the time to represent a typical deck array of typical aircraft.

Wenn sie "True Blue" wie die CV - 6 verwendet hätten, würden die Jet - Piloten das Flugdeck niemals sehen! 😀
