Description
Hi!
Barb (goldie) made a very kind and humorous comment about my revealing my process, by showing the image I mixed w/ the image, above.
(Yeah---I showed my hand---but I do that all the time, on RR. I have no shame, lol...)
So: I thought: I'll show the process on THIS image too.
The TOP image, here, is the original: It's a snowstorm a few years back. (Barb: We definitely don't have this NOW: I'd be home-bound for days if we did, after my recent fall...)
The BOTTOM image, above, is the postworked version.
(Full Disclosure.)
I'm working on postworking nature (ie, the sky, the sun, forests, people...I'll let you know if I work out the bugs...)
Hope I didn't bore anyone!
Thanks again for your visits, everyone!

Thank you so much for this dedi :) You do know I love the snow, and the storm that created this pile must have been a humdinger. The original capture is excellent, yet the PW certainly enhances the colors, especially the snow into that dramatic icy blue. Your photos are such a pleasure to view 😂

The original is fantastic and your reworked version is stunning!

Strong light and long shadows dominate, with fine digital work, on this, one of your favorite street scenes, Mark. Hope you're holding up okay with your physical therapy.

Well, this is a lovely behind-the-scenes dedication for Barb - and a wonderful look at the before and after, Mark. It's a lovely photo before the postwork (I can see either version as a beautiful Holiday card. Both images are really outstanding!
I have a challenge for you while you work on postworking nature.... Can you postwork some of the fools currently running this and several others as well? Postwork them onto some far distant planet - or maybe that famous galaxy far, far away.. 😆 The farther the better!
Seriously, this is wonderful, Mark!

Like how it looks like a tunnel In original Mark with the drooping branches full of snow and the bushes around. Love your lens work. Great manip and dedi for our dear friend.

Mark, this was an outstanding dedi for Barb. I must say even though you give up your secrets from time to time, what matters most is the love and care you put into changing them.

Barb has been friends with many artists here for so many years. outstanding dedication Mark and beautiful capture/ post work

Really cool capture and dedi.

This is cool to see. I think its fascinating to compare the images. I like the way the white snow on the canopy of trees completely changes with the post work and the red adds bits of brightness and warmth. The couple at the end of the tunnel are still obviously holding hands in every version... I like that! :)
dragongirl
A fine photo in both versions!

I would not even try to retouch this, for me it's a nightmare! The blurry spots in the trees are quicksand and I would drown. But I have seen in your work that you know how to shop much better then I do. I got a book several years ago that explains how to use the fifty six channels in PS and I gained some understanding plus learned a few tricks. But you are channel dancing or bending channels, when I take some Bryce into PS I'm stomping it. What you have accomplished here is magic! You have an amazing talent to fix that tree and keep the photo so clean and pure, with integrity intact. You've make me want learn more about it because of what you are showing us here. This is easily some of the best I've ever seen, including Katrin, and with your extraordinary coloring you have created an amazing work of art. Sending a note soon and thanks for sharing this, Tom
