Description
I decided to rework my last scene of the Gwraig Annwn, the Welsh water spirit, as something about the perspective was off; it made her look like a giantess sitting in a puddle! ...So, I went down to the local park yesterday while the sun was out and and got a shot of the pond there in the low winter light and worked that as a backdrop instead. Not as grandiose as the Welsh mountain Lyns (maybe I can call it Lyn y Parc Falch?), but once the cars, power lines and cyclists in day-glo gortex etc. were cropped out, I think it improved the overall composition and tone ...
see what you think....

I have a weakness for the Arthurian tales. Very inspired image! Nice blending of image and render!

Thanks, appreciated. This was done "in box" by using a wider aperture camera to blur the edges of the water plane, allowing it to blend with the photo backdrop, and adjusting the reflection highlight colour to match that of the photo.
It has often been speculated that the Lady of the Lake in Arthurian Myth has her origin with the Gwragedd Annwn, seeing as the earliest tale to mention Arthur comes from Wales (Culhwch ap Olwen). Even "Avalon" is derived from the Welsh for "Island of the Apples".

I think this is a far better version, the brighter lighting also helps to lift the scene as well, the background, continuing on from your Authurian note, would be excellent for the hand and sword appearing in the middle of that splendid pond

Thanks Paul, and its a good suggestion - I've been working on a scene of excalibur for a while, but haven' yet finessed the combination of ripples and refraction right... unless I go down the John Boorman road an use lots of mist and no ripples!
