Description
Thank you for the comments, looks and thanks for being here, I’m really excited to share this with you! I have found a new method of digital painting (abstract) using CG distortion and noise. The results look like a reflection but are going in, I call it 3d inflection. This bug’s outer sphere has a much distorted grid material and the two inner spheres are glass. You are looking into and through the bug at the grid as it further distorts inside the glass. I am just starting to get a handle on it and plan to show you more soon. And while my bugs are strange they do exhibit two things most of us may find familiar, leaving trails and melting. Tom

I love how you've distorted and distended the bug's shell/back in the two sides of the image (the glass?): The left side seems to capture the upper portion of the bug, the right side, the lower portion. And we see how complex these rite-like pageants are. They feel like huge tapestries from ancient temples, or paintings on the altars of ancient temples. There's all this ceremony in them, celebration of various traditions...and while we don't know the traditions or rituals, we feel like we're witnessing them as they were known to the native population who created them, or the scientists who made these amazing visuals of the bug's back. Beautiful imagery, with vivid colors...and the two panels are like penetrative studies of the bug. (this would be right at home with a bunch of notations below it, as if it were a study...) It seems like you have a whole new world ahead of you with these. Beautiful work, Tom.

This is really wonderful, my friend! I love bugs - always have. So much in fact the other kids used to call me "Bugface" wayyy back in grade school (back during the dark ages, you know..😂).

Nice experimenting - still hate bugs - especially those red eyed cicada - which this reminds me of.
