Description
This is the start of a cycle of renders based on the zodiac (thanks Miwi for the inspiration!).
In western astronomy and astrology, the Zodiac starts with the ram (Krios in Greek, Aries in Latin). This is because at the time the zodiac was first devised, the sun crossed the celestial equator in the constellation of Aries during the vernal equinox. It no longer does so, but zodiacal sign Aries is still associated with the sun, fire and the colour red. It is ruled by the planet mars, and so also has associations with conflict and war. Ares (not Aries) is of course also the Greek god of war, so I have taken advantage of that pun in this image too.
The backdrop shows the approximate form of the corresponding astronomical constellation, along with the famous map of the heavens drawn by Albrecht Durer in 1515.

a great idea for a series, really like the background and the first character, and like the introduction.
This kind of idea really stimulates the mind as I thought the zodiac was a Summerian device, and of course we have Robert Bauval drawing our attention to the Sphinx pointing to the sign of Leo all those thousands of years ago β Wikipedia here we go, great start Joe
