Description

Halfway through the series and its Virgo's turn, the largest of the constellations in the zodiac... The constellation Virgo has a LOT of different origin tales, though there is a relatively common theme of a maiden in most of them. The Babylonians associated the constellation with Shala, the goddess of grain. In classical times she was sometimes identified as Astraea or Iustitia (Justice), holding the scales that later became the separate constellation of Libra. More commonly, Virgo is associated with Persephone (spring) or Ceres (grain). The brightest star, Spica, retains this association (it means ear of grain in Latin). The symbol used in the western tradition is based on Astraea, who in addition to being a goddess of justice was the last of the immortals to abandon Earth when the gods fled to Olympus, which is fitting for an earth sign. Virgo is ruled by Mercury and is also associated with gold (unsurprisingly given the harvest connection), yellow, jade and buttercups. The jewellery and costume is mostly from the Delira outfit by Esha on DAZ, with an optitex dynamic dress and some EmmaAndJordi accessories.

Not sure how I missed this very intriguing concept series :-/ Love the concept of manifesting the signs in the form of complementary females. The background descriptions are lucid, thorough, and very well-written. Their historical context well-researched, interesting, and informative. I appreciate the work involved and for making us its beneficiaries :-)
