Description
Libra hasn't always been associated with scales. The Babylonians saw it as scales, while in ancient Egypt it was seen as a boat. It was also associated with the claws of the scorpion; the ancient Greeks called that region of the sky "Chelae (claws). The names of the individual stars in the constellation still reflect this, for example zubenelakrab (Gamma Librae) means "the Scorpion's claw" in Arabic. Libra in the western tradition became recognised as a constellation fairly recently (by the Romans), who saw it as the scales associated with the goddess of justice.
Libra is ruled by Venus and is associated with air, blue, sapphires and aquamarines. It is the only constellation in the zodiac representing an inanimate object.
I was very undecided aboiut the composition of this, so i did two alternate versions for your perusal (lucky you!). I also noticed that the images were uploading in reduced resolution for some reason; theses ones should hopefully be better when you zoom in, and I'll update the previous ones over the coming days
Jewellery by supernova (Dazzler over on Daz); cloth is an optitex dynamic sheet. Balances are cobbled together from primitives and bits of props.

I especially like the pose on this one, and the draping is very beautiful. I also very much appreciate reading the texts on all of these. Thanks for all your research. 🙂
