Description
'Well, went tnis morning, had the MRI exam for the Lumbar.'
Our gal Lucinda Rodriguez shares with us her experience over at Bay Side Diagnostics Imaging.
'You bet I was nervous cos this was my first MRI and not know what to expect but they... the doctors there made me very comfortable and I could relax a bit more and to feel no so ecared of the experience.'
The technicians and doctors at Bay Side have a way of really helping patients, especially first-timers, feel more comfortable during their visit and exam.
'First off I just want to say thank you to all of you for your support and caring. That means alot to me and I love you all.'
True, MRIs are usually a lengthy experience but the technicians and doctors at Bay Side will talk a patient through the procedure, which tends to alleviate alot of anxiety and nervousness a patient might have.
'For the lumbar they had to inject a dye... a umm... contrast. That it, contrast they say, into my vein by IV so as to help light up the image more they are taking. Then the only really hard part was I had to lie so still for a long time but I made it though. Since it's lower back they had me go into the machin feet-first so it felt no so clausterphobic. That is one way I could feel a bit more comfortable in that exam. They ask if I needed a blanket but actually I not need cos the room was comfortable and was not chilly as I kind of expected. The noises of the machin werenot too bad either. Just loud sometimes- heh heh! At one point about five or six minutes into the machin I had to try not to laugh or giggle cos one sound it was like someone knocking and ringing the door buzzer and I wanted to say Hey stop knocking and ringing I'll be there in a minute-heh-heh'
