On Discover Dogs, these two never let us down & engage with the public amazingly well.
You do get asked all sorts of questions & I answer truthfully, good & bad.
One young couple came over & asked if they would run for 40/50 miles?
I asked what they meant, for instance, were they hoping to be going on walking holidays.
No they wanted the dog to run 40/50 miles at once.
Errrr, when do they stop?, I asked
Odd times.
My answer was NO. So they went.
They were looking for a breed of dog who could run 40/50 miles. I wonder if they found one?
I hate to see people cycling or jogging with dogs, especially in warm weather & on the lead, the cyclist/jogger can stop, the dog cannot.
Yes in some forms of work, dogs do do lots of running, sheep dogs etc but they can stop.

I think I would have lost my cool if someone asked me something like that. Some people don't deserve a dog, and I really hope they don't get one. I mean, really, who would even think of trying to run a dog for 40/50 miles?

Why in the world would someone want a dog to be able to run 40/50 miles?? The only thing I can think of these people are bikers and want to have a dog that can tag along--I'd like to do that to these people--place a belt on them attached to a leash and then have them run along a bike for 50 miles...thoughtless morons...
