Description
I thought I'd revisit this subject and try to capture the entire transformation in one image, using the idea of ghostly memories fading into time.
Quite a lot of post-work here as i couldn't think of a way of doing it "in the box" as I couldn't find opacity settings for some of the items and ended up having to layer 4 separate renders. Reasonably pleased with the outcome though...

The conceptual originality here is phenomenal, Joe. I've given up trying to tell anymore :-D when or if you're layering a background in post or working 'in the box' as you say. Whichever, the background setting is tremendous.
For future reference, once an object is uber shaded for iRay rendering, the Surfaces Panel will show a number of categories for the object one of which is named 'Geometry'. The 1st item listed within is called 'cutout opacity'. 1 is fully opaque, .5 is half so, 0 is fully translucent :-)

Thanks for your kind comments and the handy tip... both much appreciated.

Nice concept and well executed. I only recently stumbled over grouping a figure and clothes (or several figures). Haven't tried that but maybe one can fade a whole group with the opacity slider. I am about 400 km away from my machine, but when I return I'll have a look. Until then it is just a thought.
