Description

This is the second image that I would have exhibited in Venice if the pandemic had not stopped the exhibition. It represented Venice as a distant memory lost in the shocking consequences of climate change.

A most exemplary masterpiece, filled with mystery and prophecy! I wish the world hadn't turned up-side-down so you could have exhibited it along with all your other fine art!

It's an amazing angle of Venice and by today's standard an accurate depiction of how empty the streets in a lot of cities.

Gorgeous visionary artwork, it's so beautiful. I'm thinking of the Venetians who can now live in peace and look at their wonderful city without being disturbed by hords of tourists, every single day of the year.....🇮🇹

I've noticed, in your many images, that you always communicate light and hope, even in the most despairing images. This looks like a sunken city---not sunken in water, but in mist and haze. The city feels like a dream, a lost kingdom (like Atlantis). It's fading into oblivion...We want to reach out and touch it, pull it back...but it keeps drifting further into the mists. But, to me, your exquisite dream-like blue hues---those aqua blues and pale whites---make it a place in a heaven...as if it had been graced by some higher power before it disappeared. Also, you've rendered the city with very precise proportions---it has the precise lines and proportions of a fine architectural render: The bridges are eloquent and delicate, and so are the buildings...they appear drawn, as an architect might draw an architectural render.

The fading city is bathed in those beautiful 'heavenly' blues and whites: Maybe Venice is being embraced by a blessed being, an angel, a spirit, as it fades from earth for good. The bird seems ominous, because it is diving downwards. But, being white and graceful, the bird seems to call the city upwards: It almost looks as if it's guiding the city out of the morass of a climate-ravaged earth. And then, you have a striation: numerous fine lines running across the whole image, as if you brushed your image with a fine brush: It gives the image the feeling of a fine print, or of art made on fine grained paper. I really like that. A powerful dream-like image, which is haunting, surrendering, and beautiful. I hope it's in an exhibition soon...
