This one has a chrome quality to it, and also a glass quality---and I mean those super thick glass blocks which, here, have melted and been twisted into taffy. And you have big splotches of red (with tan-green edges) in the center, and blues on the right, and gray-greens on the left, etc. Recently I've been returning to Chopin (I sound awful playing him, but no one can hear me), and how he makes whole pieces out of 2 or 3 melodies contrasting with each other. It strikes me you do that masterfully in your abstracts: You put color splotches in one section, a different set of colors in another, etc, and they speak to each other, complement each other. You still have many colors throughout, but there are areas where a few colors dominate. Your reds here are like microscopic studies of cells or bacteria, the forms are very organic. And you've got blasts of white again, which push in and obliterate whatever they touch. Another powerful fist of a work.
