Description

A remake of my very first post here 5 years ago (https://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/last-stance/2611546/?p&ca). A test for Nathan by Tempesta (allthough not much of the character is seen in the armor).

fascinating comparison; the new version, unsurprisingly, is much more dramatic. great textures on the armour too

What dynamic and powerful image...the guy looks fierce and dangerous, at least if you're one of his ennemies !

I am completely flummoxed. I think the original is outstanding !! And reading the comments was hilarious !! There were quite a few nitpickers back then. I have no idea what the "poke through" guy was looking at and what on earth was the fascination with "bump" back then? I have never looked at an image and thought, 'What a great use of bump!'. At least the "crop" critic had the decency to acknowledge his own limitations after making ridiculous suggestions. Perhaps I'm being overly harsh but the only one who got it right was Hergt and thus the basis for my being flummoxed.

I have no doubt you have learned and grown much in the ensuing years (I submit the current piece as Exhibit A) but equally impressive is that five years ago you were already a fully formed artist !!

Now I'm going to hit the books and see if my lack of "bump" is what holds my imagery back :-/

The effects here are incredible, but so is everything! The expression, the stance, the lighting, and even the cropping. Amazing scene. :)

Very powerful and dynamic - a truly cinematic scene, here. Superbly done! Looks like he's going to take as many down with him as he can.
