Description

The sunflower is a seeker of the life-giving rays of sun and much of what it symbolizes today is taken directly from its namesake the sun. For the Native Americans tribes of the south west the sunflower, along with corn, was an important food source as early as 3000 BC. Spanish ships returning from the New World carried the seeds of the sunflower to Europe and its popularity spread quickly.
