When I was a little girl, I could see Dragons. That's how I chose my name here at Renderosity. (Sometimes I can still see them.)
I have been an artist and a writer all my life - and have worked in acrylic on canvas as well as watercolor. I was best known for my watercolors of dream creatures - especially for my Dream Birds. Lots of my art and writing has been found in dreams.
In May of 2000, I did my first 3D picture on the computer. And I was hooked.
My Underground Shaman series - takes off where my 2D work left off. The faces of animals, human, and not-so-human always fascinate me and I like to use them as stylized motifs to create mandalas full of textures, patterns, colors and emotions.
With the internet, I discovered, that while some people make art to look at, I like to make art that looks at YOU! :-)
The Underground Shamans are Wise Ones from many worlds, realms, and dimensions. In mid-2002 the Dragon Fae also began appearing to humans - they are an interesting race, well-traveled, and good talkers.
My computer and software are now ancient, but they and my imagination are still working at the moment - more or less (as of August 2021)

The Red Heads bring a touch of humour and fantasy that contrasts with the austerity of the shaman. Her bird-shaped hairstyle is also a nod to her friends wearing red masks...Your images always challenge the viewer and fix the attention of those who look at them. This one maybe even more with this mix of extravagance and austerity...The text tells us that this is the goal : pay attention to what happens...even when we have the impression that nothing is happening !...Superb work as always my friend !

Beautiful work on this interesting image with the stunning shaman and those strange red-masked birds. Your thought-provoking commentary is apt for these unusual and trying times.

your narrative, which has a lot of depth, illuminates your exotic and amazing image. The idea that a sage with a stern or fierce presence can deliver great depth and even love---without changing a feature or uttering a word---is a true and ancient reality. This shaman's gaze is stark, with an almost fence-like guard running down the center of her face. But that is only the surface. From your narrative, she has great serene depth inside, and by being near her, one will eventually absorb that depth. The old Jewish mystics spoke of "the pain and wisdom of silence," while a Christian mystic, St. John of the Cross, wrote a whole poem and essay on receiving wisdom while sunken in the silence of night (the dark night of the soul), and some of the yogic sages spoke of their 'daytime' being night, because in night they found infinity waiting for them. An ojibway woman (shaman) told me that being receptive is as important as 'doing anything'. So I appreciate this shaman and her strange animal-like companions, who, despite their face-mask faces, may have great wisdom from being around the shaman. Your background is in the red of their faces, and the red of the shaman's jeweled crown. Another of your explorations of the inner heart and soul, w/ your way of visualizing it through shaman after shaman and their worlds. Beautifully written and done.
(thanks for your wonderful comments on my apt art; and I can be messy in the extreme, lol---you just don't see it in those pics. I'm a lot better with others' art than I am with my own!)

Awesome render, great characters. Interesting and thought provoking. Good to see her feathered friends are being protected with their red masks.
