From an early age Aenwyn showed an aptitude for magic. Recognizing this her parents brought her to the most powerful wizard they knew, Kolvar the Cruel. They did so in the hopes that he would, in exchange for an apprentice, stop terrorizing their village. Their plan worked but not for the reason they hoped. Kolvar decided to use the village to test his new apprentice when he deemed her ready to go out into the world. Aenwyn’s childhood was surprisingly happy, Kolvar treated her kindly, perhaps out of love or a finely tuned sense of self preservation. At any rate she proved an attentive student and rapidly progressed through her classes. When he deemed her read Kolvar introduced her to the darker paths of Necromancy and as before she proved an eager pupil. For all the dark arts she was studying Aenwyn proved stubbornly cheerful and, dare it be said, good. Other Necromancers find her presence and relentless cheer disturbing, and many are outright afraid of her. Something Kolvar has found particularly useful on occasion. Kolvar has decided that Aenwyn is ready to venture out into the world to continue her learning. He has abandoned his plan to have her destroy her old village, at least until her exposure to the outside world finally hardens her heart and drives her to evil…
