A most timely creation, as Tropical Storm Bertha grumbles around the lower Atlantic ...

Naah. They just get out now and walk from here. ;-) Excellent image. What comes to my mind is all the pursuits and battles throughout history when these tiny ships ran aground and had to await Mother Nature's pleasure.

ditto many comments above; and, with Tom (busgnouveau), my tea tastes a mite salty too. Terrific image, it roars...great waves, made all the more dramatic by those strong highlights (your light on the crests), as well as by the lights on the distant waters. You really handled the spray superbly too, esp in front of the ship and that destroyed frame in the left-foreground. We can see the rain itself, too, as well as two big lightning blasts---this ain't any 'light sprinkle'---and another ship out there, in full sail. (They gotta be thinking, "ooooooh boy, wrong direction!") And you know what? The greatest light is in front: the light on the front trough of water---it draws us right to the front, when all the action is behind and around it...Very dramatic, Barb---you even cut off the mast, to make us feel we're plopped in the middle of this thing. (We actually get waves like this on the Great Lakes---the Lakes have eaten ships like they were cookies---but the ocean gets them like nothing else. Only a new englander could make this image! Having been up and down that craggy coast, I can picture this right off the harbors of Maine...) Terrific job, Barb. Again, my great wishes for your health and safety, and same for your mom, and everyone else dear to you. Take care. (My keyboard just shorted-out: You might wanna control the water in this...it just flooded my desk...)

5 Stars! This scene depicts the motion very well! Excellent! There is so much depth with the lightning and boat on the horizon as well.
