Description
Thomas the Rat had found a wonderful slice of cheese a few hours ago and hid it behind a basket. He had planed on retrieving it after he got his cigar. When he returned what did he see!!?? No. Were his aging eyes deceiving him? A crummy little mouse was holding HIS slice of cheese! Just as he was about to take possession of the cheese, the little scoundrel ran off like a bolt of lightning, entering his hidey hole. Well, surveying the scene, Thomas decided that a few apples would make a fine meal. During the night he dreamed about having his meal of cheese.

Poor Thomas, apples are not cheese... next time he needs to take his treat with him. I love the cigar, it makes him look sophisticated. Little mouse just looks smug. :) A cute scene and a fun story.

I love the imaginative responses here (incl morals!) I have to admit, the first thing I did was try to see if there was a 'political' undertone, only because you're so quick and sharp to dig into the present political situation. (So I sat here thinking, 'ok: the big mouse is our prez, the little guy is.....no: the cheese is the leader of the senate, and......") I hope I didn't miss anything, lol...I love the scene, and the expression of the cigar chomping dude (who looks like he just came back from a poker game), and the self-satisfied cheese-stealer. I also like that it's a night scene, and the candles in the background, and blue tint all over the ground (mouse hair from mouse no. 2 ? moondust?) Delightful scene, with a gold-tinted light falling over it. Delightful. And I hope you're staying healthy and safe in all ways, Barb. And I hope things start easing up in your (very intense) area...
