BIO I'm an illustrator, and for the last 15 years I have been doing almost exclusively digital work--mostly covers for e-books and small presses; fantasy, SF and Paranormal Romance covers are my specialty. I use Poser, Photoshop and Painter, and a nifty little paint program called ArtRage. I have been lucky enough to have work shown on the BBC's The Sky at Night, done promotional artwork for the Hugos, and have digital art tutorials published in Michael Burn's Femme Digitale and Digital SciFi Art (Watson-Guptill 2004) as well as DVD covers, cd covers and e-book covers, most recently for Liquid Silver Books, Edge/Tesseract and Dragon Moon Press. I'm also a member of the International Association of Astronomical Artists. . When I have time, I do acrylic paintings for fun.
Commissions: I do 3d texturing and backgrounds now rather than book covers, and I do appreciate a good UV template to work on. Thanks for checking out my bio!

Sweet image!!!👍🙋♂️

I really like how realistic the swimsuit looks. You did a great job around the bust area. And, the fabric of the suit and the pattern are very cool.
May I recommend some refraction to the water? The reflection on the water surface looks great, but the lack of refraction negates the rest of the realism in the image.

It's all a cheat to speed up the render--that is just a flat plane with a bump map--and the rest is a background! And your sharp eyes spotted the lack of refraction :D I thought about putting a glass cube there, but I would still be rendering now if I did that, and I just needed to proof the pattern. (I try to make decent test renders so I can use them in the promos).

Lovely looking girl in a beautiful swimsuit, also a wonderful image. I also agree with the recommend of dbwalton of the water work, make some little splatters around her or put her half in to the water, en do some reflextions in the water. Still I like and love this scene my friend.

I thought she needed some water droplets on her (she looks very dry) :D But I love the idea of splashes--I will think if I have a way to create them that looks right. <3 Thank you too!

Nice clear blue water this beauty is in Lynn. Wish I was there also. And yes a primo job on her swimwear. 5++

I want to be there so much! I went once to the Caribbean and the water looked just like that. It wasn't even cold! After growing up next to the Pacific, warm water was amazing! Have a wonderful and safe week!

That is an amazing texture. The suit is so well done. I'd be interested in how you did it? It looks better that what I would expect from a Material Room drop in texture. Well done.

The trick is to layer--the actual cloth texture as a bump, then a color texture, and then on top a glossy spec layer with a different pattern masked in--the combination of layers and masks help give the cloth a little more depth. And I throw away a lot of combinations, too :D Thank you too!

Love the texture!! Great job!

You really did a gorgeous job on this, Lynn! Her suit looks great! But I'm pretty sure there's one Copper River salmon that's not on her suit.... Most of him is in my stomach at the moment... LOL

My that sounds tasty! Thank you too!

Excellent!

I love this one, it would suit a mermaid, if mermaids wore swimsuits!
lwperkins
Thank you both! Maybe mermaids wear just tops? hehe!

Very nice

Love her hair :-)

Aww, thank you! I wish I had made a finer transmap--it's not as good as the original, but I use it anyway for the colors :D
