Description

Here's another one from the "archives" of my airbrush work from years ago. Again, this is a mixture of airbrush, watercolor, and a bit of colored pencil here and there. This was actually designed to be a business card. I had my old phone number on it, but that's been taken off. We've been doing more down-sizing and reorganizing today - all to the the endless serenading of our rap-blaring asswipe neighbor 3 houses to the east. It was REALLY loud today, vibrating the windows at one point. The Independence Police won't do anything about it due to the "emergency situation" I was told. My tax dollars at work. Just one of many reasons we're wanting to find another place to live.. Enough about that... I'll be taking Sunday off from all this busy stuff and sit down and do some serious work on the TNA story, as well as the G4 story, and Kinnie's Diary. Sorry it's been so off and on lately. I'll be working on it more, I promise! Hope everyone's having a great weekend! Stay safe, stay healthy, and thanks for stopping by and for all your great comments! Fantastic image, Rod! I can relate to the frustrations of noisy, inconsiderate neighbors! Sometimes you wish you could go over there with a ray gun and vaporize the bastard(s). Nice and clean and leaves no evidence. LOL! Noise problem solved!

Actually, a nice M1 Abrams tank would fit the bill beautifully. He likes loud "boom boom boom" - I'll give him some...

Maybe if you played Copacabana really loud several times he'd get the message--or at least an earworm :D I'm in awe of your airbrush skills--it's so hard to do!

Neighbor's can be jerks. Some you can make piece with others, no so much. As to art that is really cool to see vintage work before there were render images, Really nicely done. Stay Well...Stay Safe.

It looks like one of those old time ads. All it needs is the 1950's price tag. Those always crack me up.

Nice work! It sounds like you have a real jerk in your neighborhood. Why is it that the people with the worst taste in music have to play it the loudest?

What a wonderful illustration...that card and the sexy gal look terrific...certainly a wonderful business card this would make...do hope your basement is finally dry and remains so for a long time, and I am delighted to know that you are finally deciding to make that move to a more congenial place...

This is exemplary art Rod! So terribly sorry you feel the need to move because of that noisy "person" If I knew anyone at all in your area, I would ask my friends to pay him a little visit! Problem solved!

I have never tried air brush, but I admire many people's ability. superb work Rod. I have Hispanics that blares their music so loud that I can not hear my tv in the living room . hard work moving as I have done it several times by myself with two small sons. It has been 35 years since I moved the last time. I know one can find many things that makes no sense for keeping when moving

I'm really enjoying seeing your old work. Esp as it's traditional media---Rod before Poser (or at least Rod-without-Poser, in case you were using an early version of Poser back then). I made this as small as a business card (by making my browser reeeeealllly small), and it makes a striking card. And it's so amazing to see "Photography" and "Illustration," considering everyone here knows you primarily through your 3D work. It's very bright, the combo of that shimmering caddy and your model's black (with pink and green, and strong accents and flares) is very striking; and your pinup is just entering the scene, to catch everyone's attention; and, even back then, you knew how to handle outfits and posture. And this was all done by hand! No paradigms, scripts, or whatever you call them in 3D: By HAND! Great open sky too, and lots of space for your info...Amazingly, it's still very vivid, very large. You do flares really well---on her boot, on the gold on her thigh, her arm bracelet, her wrist, etc...and all over the car. And you PAINTED those reflections, and the hues in the headlights, on her skin, in the car chrome, etc. (You paint!!!) Very bold and eye-catching, Rod, and I too am impressed with your airbrush skills. I just never could get the feel for that medium...The few pencil pieces I saw of yours were very impressive too---you've really covered a lot of ground as an artist. I love these old pieces.

And I'm sorry you have so much noise around you...I've lived with maddening noise too. I'm glad you and Jo are moving. I hope the process is good, and without stress...I wish you both the very best with it.
