wow, I like this series very much. A change, too, from the many gorgeous nature shots you've posted. These sing, full size. The stapler, in your macro, moves between focus and non-focus, which allows portions of the stapler to 'emerge', while other portions 'submerge'. Also, you photographed it on a blue surface, which was a fine choice because the stapler is blue as well. In your shot, the stapler is almost an abstract object, with some sheen and lots of textures. Karlheinz Stockhausen, the avant garde composer (from your country) said, if we take 'normal' sounds, and put them into totally foreign environments, those sounds suddenly become new, unheard, fresh. These "Useful Things" shots convey that feeling...
