Description
Ok...my dentistry's tomorrow, so I did this for Dave tonight (magnus073). Thursday's his birthday.
While I'm not 100%, it isn't hard to find words for this...When Dave was active here, he was one of the beloved foundations of the site. He did dedis that took him nights: He interviewed RR members, got very personal and touching stories, then made these beautiful, intimate images for them, then wrote their stories beautifully, then translated them in several languages, then---I assumed---collapsed. (I would have.)
But the thing is: He didn't collapse: He couldn't...He was running a business full time, raising children, helping his loved ones whenever they needed it, and helping his community. (When a major tornado hit, he was in the rubble, helping people, assisting them, whatever he could do...and I thought, "that's Dave". I mean, I wasn't surprised. He's just 'one of those people'...)
From his ecent comments, he's been offline because he's had to work extra jobs due to covid. So I want Dave to know, from the bottom of my heart, that wherever he is, whatever he's doing, he will always be loved by everyone who's had the privilege of knowing him, for his absolutely sterling heart. Bad times? Dave is one of the suns. His heart is the good times. He's a jewel.
Happy Birthday, Dave. You'll always be loved by those who know and have been graced by you. Stay whole and healthy, old friend, and may light shine on you always (and I mean without a moment off),mark
(another huge one...if you can zoom, it'll be fuller)

Sunshine, smiles, rainbows, strength and cheer, that's what I see in these images, and that's what Dave is to us, too. This is a fantastic dedication; both the images and the write-up are beautifully done. Happy Birthday, Dave!

Mark, first of all let me say THANK YOU so much for this wonderful birthday dedication. You really made my night, and it gave me a smile I haven't had for a while now. I'm so glad you emailed to let me know as I saw your email when I got home and came online to respond. I was just starting my return to the community when covid hit and as you pointed out have been working two jobs to make ends meet.

This is a truly wonderful dedication for Dave - someone who has definitely had more than his share of challenges. I remember when that tornado hit Joplin, and he was right in the midst of things afterward.
Happy Birthday, Dave! And may nothing but good things come your way.
Like Dave, you too are a true gem here, Mark! It's an honor to call you my friend!

A striking acknowledgement for Dave in the birthday dedication display above, Mark. The man had/has lots to do, family, community, and whatever else that requires his abilities and attention. And hope your dental procedure was successful with a minimum of discomfort, Mark. I know you couldn't wear a mask while having your tooth worked on and hope everyone else involved wore one during the procedure. Oh, I had a root canal performed last October, fortunately prior to the Covid-19 pandemic.
