I was born and raised in the "South Bay" before it became "Silicon Valley". I went to Cal State Hayward and graduated with a B.A. in Art. I went back to school at the local JC and got my degree in technical illustration. For the next 25 years I worked as an illustrator and graphic artist at a hand-full of high tech companies. As of December 2012 I officially retired from the "Rat Race". I now have time for my art. Even though I have been a member of the Renderosity community for about 3 years, it has been a silent partnership on my part. I have been enjoying everone else's "Labors of Love" without giving anything in return. That will change.

Wonderful caustic light play. This is a real fun render to explore. It really shows off the materials and their shader's. Well done.

For the sake of argument, I simply call it Silicon Valley Gold (LOL). I've been messing around with colors for cars for several weeks now and this is the final version of this particular yellow. I did a lot of tweaking and mixing and just trying different things, you know? Basically it came down to a dark blue diffuse color with a pure yellow 100% transparency overlay and some assorted metal flakes thrown in for good measure. Just as a note, I used black as the diffuse color but it kept coming out a not so good looking green. I think I may be able to get a workable color out of it with some adjustments (?).

Very nice colours - so that explains the wine glass on the floor! Good thing it was empty.

Oh, gawd.... Do I ever remember those days of setting up lights, backgrounds, props, flash-meter readings at the left, right, middle, moving lights to get the proper lighting ratios..... Gah.... But I never had a chance to shoot anything this lovely.... Or even an awesome '57 Belaire.... Sheesh...
Awesome and lovely scene, Dave - despite the little "oopsie" with the goblet (good thing it's plexiglass!)
Now I need to get busy... The T.N.A. Ladies are standing here, arms folded, tapping their feet, and saying "When are you going to get one of these for us???" As if they don't already have enough toys... 😉

Well Rod, that's what you get when you allow your ladies access to this gallery!!! (LOL)

I've been toying with that same model of the car, and I might as well set it aside, cause you nailed it! The car, I mean. 5+++

Superb job on the colour; reminds me of some of the more outlandish shades some of the weirder prototypes sported... I'm sure I've seen a picture of 1951 GM LeSabre in something similar.
