Description

I think we as a society should be re-thinking our police officers in more than one way. The single most important feature is the visual aspect of an officer of the law. 6'2", 210lbs, Dark Blue Uniform, Aviator Shades, A utility belt with all kinds of du-dads including a 357 Smith and Wesson, and all topped off with that Military style hat that adds 3 more inches to his height. Very imposing! My idea is to soften things up. Only females will be the primary officer. This is the negotiator - you know, the one that does all the verbal communication with the culprits and the victims. Women are much better at keeping the tensions below the boiling point and defusing the situation. These primary officers and well trained in the martial arts and expert marksmen. One of their guns is loaded with rubber bullets and the other has full load lethal rounds. Susan has volunteered to be our P.O. and dress accordingly. Attractive leather outfit with no HAT. All peace officers travel in pairs. The second officer can be either an enhanced human being or a robot/cyborg (Think GORT). We can talk about their roles and capabilities at a later date. This image is what I call "Visual Food for Thought". If the audience has any ideas about the subject please let the rest of us know. Enjoy. Disclaimer: I am the son of a former police officer. My dad was a Deputy Sheriff for Santa Clara, County here in California from the late 40's to the early 70's. It is interesting to note that in all those years of service my dad told me he never once had a need to draw his weapon in the line of duty.

But now I WANT to cause a disturbance!

I think female officers are common in Japan for much the same reasons you describe. At least I think I remember reading something like that. Having 2.5 women-to-men probably contributes to that as well.

Soften up the beat cops, but have some muscle for when shit hits the fan.

Lovely render. I challenge you to do more. Tell us a story. What's a typical day for Susan like?

Very cool image...its super...in every aspect, and yes i agree with what you've said, and your father was top notch...!!...what a role model...its.. not just the appearance, or approach and understanding that needs to change...i'm ex military....and i know what is like....so for me...guns carried without reason or in the home on the street ....?....sorry i don't get it....yeah the softer approach or touch will work to degree...dose depend on the situation and circumstances...like everything...there is never any need for physical touch or restaurant, but its not just the physical side....laws have to change too...and need that adaptive approach.....or we will never move forward...or learn from past mistakes...or injustice.....

This is brilliant commentary and well thought out. I to knew LEO that in all thee service never used lethal force. Your idea is a concept that going forward we will be forced to consider. Well done and well thought out . Bravo.

Most excellent work on this image, and a stellar idea as well. Just so GORT keeps that laser eyeball under control...

Indeed... Having your entire force staffed by women has many more advantages past the obvious pleasant visual possibilities. With the proper training they seem much better suited for intense situations. They seem to be able to focus better, and react quickly when the situation calls for it. As you shall soon see.. 😉

I've always had the highest respect for those who put their lives on the line daily to keep the rest of us safe. Most people seem to have the impression that the first thing an officer is likely to do is draw his/her firearm in any situation. And the popular media does little to allay that mistaken idea. They focus on things like the Floyd incident, and all that does is keep certain elements of our society stirred up.

OK - I'm stepping down from my soap box, now... LOL
