OK, Here's a thing! This gorram image gave me no end of hassle, so I finally just photo fiddled it and called it done. Yes BellaDark, this is the one I was cussing about. It actually came about over a conversation about red and blue lights, but the render fairy snubbed me with this one. BellaDark remains the reigning queen of R&B lighting. My bid to usurp the R&B throne was met with fierce resistance, and ultimately the coup met with near disaster. Forces rallied however and elected to carve out their own kingdom in the Render Foothills.
Adobe attempted a post coup mutiny by hijacking CS6 with a desktop creative squad, but they have been executed and CS6 is recuperating.
Case is a free thing from 3-d-c. Duffelbag is an OLD freestuff item from I don't know who. Outfit and Purse textures are from That Store Which Shall Not Be Named! The Gate textures are a mix of orriginals and Mec4D ones. Mostly originals reworked a bit for Iray. I think that's everything?
Le Character.
This gal is one Dr. Elisabeth Montgomery (DO). She is a qualified and dual-rated flight surgeon. Elisabeth was born and raised a spacer, her home in the outer asteroid belt of the Memphis system. Having grown up in system ships, she was already a rated pilot and received the line officers equivalency rating when she joined the Merchant Militia and went into the medical program. She holds the rank of Commander in the Merchant Militia. As such she sits in on command level briefings, but otherwise answers to the XO in most ship matters. She is well versed with cybernetics, and genetic therapies. Elisabeth is also fluent in Illyrican A, and Pantheran ways, which will soon serve her well when she signs on with Visherly Va-Ortaugh Ltd. as the Endurance chief medical officer.
Elisabeth is divorced, with two grown children. One is in engineering school, the other is a practicing paramedic. She is on friendly terms with her ex husband. She has some typical Spacer features, namely dark skin and eyes that are adapted to high UV environments.
Dr. Montgomery did try working in a ground based clinic on Memphis, but being ground bound was too stifling. She signed on with the relief team bound for the Illyrican revolution in September of 6648 and arrived in the thick of the conflict. Unlike many doctors, she is not adverse to using her sidearm to protect her patients, and had to resort to it on several occasions. In 6650, she finally returned home. Here, it is almost 2 years to the day she left for the revolution, and has just stepped off the docks into the orbital habitat of Wonderland.
*DO: Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.
Finally, you all should know the drill by now. Wash your hands and don't touch you face like your life depends on it; because it does. Keep a minimum of 1 hockey stick between yourselves when possible, and wear a dadgum mask if you have one. Stay safe folks.

nice story with an well done render
BellaDark
You sell yourself far short, this turned out amazing!
Madbat
A lot of that is thanks to the magic of postwork!
Darkglass
This a superb scene....and i love the character, composition and lighting...top work...and render...with out a doubt...but what your saying is you got your knuckles wrapped.....in short....we all have to just grow...in time it will come....but in that time her skill will also grow....we are all playing catch up...!!
Madbat
True. Plus some scenes are just like that. You can get into a kind of tunnel vision.
fireangel
Nice image, she looks competent and confident the way you have put this together. People with good medical skills can get a job anywhere and I doubt that will change.
Madbat
It's funny (or ironic) that half of our doctors here are saying they will be leaving thanks to the current right wing UCP government.
LyleAryn
Lovely background story, and a well-desinged scene. I'm headed to the land of exotic lighting myself, soon.
Love your work, and hope your week is fruitful.
OmniFX
Great looking Sci-fi image. Fabulous outfit, pose and lighting. Really cool!
lwperkins
That's a great character, I hope we see more of her! Sometimes the Render Gods are just pissy, but you got this looking good in the end!
Madbat
I have another one Same scene different pose n' clothes.
RodS
Yessir - another kickin' scene here, Shawn! Lighting looks great, and she seems to be a really, really good crewmember to have on any journey into the unknown... Well done, sir!
And now, I'm gonna have to have a play with the R&B thing... That's referring to lights, BTW. The only instrument I can play is a radio...

Stunning image!!!
Please send aforementioned regulation hockey stick.... I have found a new usage for it, I.e. whacking non masked dipshits.
Madbat
That's the other use for them. Just remember to wrap extra tape across the stick for a bit of padding.
Radar_rad-dude
An excellent character and image! Love the back story and your computer exploits! A most convincing and entertaining bit of creativity! Bravo!
paul_gormley

bakapo
This looks good. The character is interesting and the background sci-fi image fits her. This image is not a failure by any means, I'm sorry it frustrated you.
daggerwilldo
This one came out better than you feel. I do feel your pain though. Sometimes you feel a render just falls flat. The Render Gods are strong here at ths site and they are very fickle. I loved your commentary. A 'Hockey Stick apart ..." i have a suggestion for handling those that refuse to keep a safe distance. It is called a Hockey Stick to the Ear. Well done and a lot of fun.
farmerC
Exellent.
