Description

By this point, she ended up with a first name. I don't have a family name, but I'll get there when the time comes. This time, we're using a slightly modified Fluer, from the same vendor that did Pixel. I'm thinking I might make the Pixel version of the character into her sister, just because I do like it a lot and am stubborn since I convinced myself to purchase the model FOR THIS STORY. I think the hair is better here, and I love the slightly tired expression. All in all, this captured more the "Mom" look I was going for. Can't wait to dive in and get all covered in oil. Ok, maybe that sounded a little dirty,,, *shrugs* This is agonizing, because I want to get to writing about her romance with Lola NOW, but this is a very slow burn in the story. I would like this to serve as proof, in the future, that choosing a seemingly minor character to become the romantic interest several books down the line was ALWAYS in the works. I don't really plot this stuff, per se, but sometimes I get a really clear image of where things are headed. My job is to keep writing and watch it unfold. Joan, when she first enters the story, has given up on finding love, and instead focuses all her attention on raising her son. She's a single Mom, living with her Dad. She had Brian when she was fifteen. She is twenty when she enters the story. She works hard, and is a genuinely nice person. She gets all embarrassed whenever Lola pays her for her work on the Van - believing that since she offered to help without asking for money, that it's wrong to take the money offered. The first few times, Lola just gets sneaky about it, hiding the money in Joan's car/bag/etc. Eventually, Joan accepts that Lola wants her to be properly compensated and won't hear otherwise. After all, its hard work! A friendship forms between the pair. Lola isn't a complete stranger to a wrench, having assisted her grandfather. Besides the van (I got the Classic French Van I'm going to use in the story) Lola also has her grandfather's old motorcycle that is currently non-operational, and her own scooter that she drives everywhere. When things develop further, it takes them both by surprise. Isn't that sweet? Hope you like her! She's at the park with Brian, after working a long day beneath the hood of a stubborn pickup truck.

Thanks. My secret is that I really enjoy coming up with clothing combinations. I'm a bit of a closet fashion nerd, with an eye towards more "relaxed" styles.

Thanks. You'll be seeing more of her in the future. Likely up to her neck in grease, poking out from under the Van. She likes to get her hands dirty.

"Can't wait to dive in and get all covered in oil...." 😂👍 Been there, done that - with the cars I used to drive in my youth, I mean....

Joan looks quite sweet and down to earth. I'd be she'll look just as good covered in oil / grease / or.....

I think I'll have to do her own oil-covered pinup piece soon. I think I want to pick up one of the hot rods in 3dclassics store. I got wrenches.

I'll work it out.

Thanks for stopping by. She's sweet, and is not afraid to get her hands dirty!

What a wonderful render this is. I am working backwards so I have already seen the follow on. Very fine work and very touching.

Thank you. If I would have thought about it, I might have thought to upload them in reverse order, since that would be how they appeared in email.

Each time look at this picture, I feel inspired to do something with the character. And I want to reach the part of the story where she comes in. I've had a writing slump the last couple days, but I hope it will break over the weekend.

Thanks for looking! Always a pleasure.
