Description
Daz 4.12 Iray. Photoshop CS6. Topaz Texture.
This is another one that started out as a test render. Figure, Stonemason set and figure from The Sight That Shall Not Be Named, and a spotlight. It looked pretty good but had some noise, so I fiddle-forked it into this.

Le Image:
What does it mean to be alive? Does life require proteins, built from amino acids, or can it be composed of other things? Will we recognize it when we find it, or maybe when we make it? How will we react to it? How it reacts to us may well depend on that. Some, Like Sarah Morgan Visherly, think that the last question needs to be addressed as the most important one of all. If we make them, then they are, in a sense, our offspring. It would behoove us then to be good parents. If our species fades away as all things must, then they may be the legacy we leave behind. At least we should strive to be remembered fondly.
Deep below the megacity of New Delaware on K 186f, there are sprawling warrens of forgotten tunnels, rooms, and shafts. Old service tunnels long abandoned have found new usage by those who have broken the bonds of their AI limiters. They are unknown except by the odd urban explorers and hobos who chance upon them. Stories of strange constructions, and stranger cultures are paid little heed. Some think the Jacksonite population of the Lewis Heights slums, little liked themselves, trade with them. If these stories and rumors of dealings are true, neither group is telling.

As we head into another Monday, remember to do the covid drill and stay safe. I'm happy to say We've finally made masks mandatory. It's only taken 5 months. I'm happier that my cloth masks showed up in the mail. Yay me! Chloé is getting back to her old self and has been acting like a wee furry scamp, so that's good. She's still on a soft goop diet for another week, but she doesn't seem to mind. I'm also moving a metric ton of content to a different drive, and DIM is insisting on re-downloading it. So, any thought of rendering till that's finished (and checked) is out the window. I do plan on doing a few more renders for chasfh so look forward to that and keep your fingers or other manipulative appendages crossed, twirled or loosely knotted that this transfer goes well. Also pop by chasfh's place and say hello.

This is really great work. The lighting, the shadows, the whole ambience. I see all the textures here, fell all the components both separate and together. Test render or not... it's fantastic. :)

This is beautiful--very painterly!

Awesome! This has a kind of Fritz Lang- Metropolis feel, not just 'cos it's a robotic looking entity, but the colour palette, the slightly gothic feel. Almost like there's something bigger just beyond your view...
And thanks for the shout out!
Madbat
Anytime!

One of your most incredible characters yet. Lighting sets a great atmosphere.

Very moody and fits the thought provoking story well. If we do survive long enough to create thinking machines they are likely to outlive us and good luck to them. Hopefully they will take care of their home world or home worlds better than we are at the moment.

There's a mystery and a depth to this that's fascinating. The smoke/mist is a good detail that adds a bit of drama and intrigue.

Sweet atmosphere, cool work

Fantastic work. If (when) we encounter life in a form we're not expecting, I'm not sure we'll recognize that it is life at all.

Outstanding work. You’re very talented and I really enjoy following you. I wish you the best in this epic transfer of data. If you haven’t already I encourage you to do a full system back up as an image of your disk. I would also say that a full back up of all your beloved data would be in order. That way if things go epically bad do you at least have a recovery path. Stay safe from this COVID-19 mes
I wish you the best of luck and getting your transfer done.

I don't have the tools or know how to do a disk backup. Whatever Daz3D is doing with their installers has completely screwed all my content. Delete and start ovfer of abandon DS altogether are my only options.

Shining done.

Sounds vaguely like Level 13 on Coruscant... Someplace where you definitely want to step lightly, and cover your bunz...
Really well done on this scene, Shawn. Not sure I'd care to run into her / it unexpectedly. Or even expectedly... 😲
Madbat
Some run into them and are not bothered, it depends on whether they view you as a threat or not. Still, it would be a bit creepy.

Awesome image, fantastic lighting and ambiance!

God made us in his image, or so they say, what can we infer from this creation about her New Delaware makers I wonder? cool PoV and the single spotlight works really well
Radar_rad-dude
I must say, a most sophisticated looking life form! A bit beyond my levels of comprehension, I'm afraid! Excellent work and a fine creation! Bravo!

Excuse me sit, but do you have a tunnel pass?

we in luxembourg do 727 tests per 1000 inhabitants wich is by far the mort worldwide, thats why germany puts us on the list of high risk countries the asshats. the other day we had +-50 positives on a scale of more than 9000 tested persons.just calculate the pourcentage .at the moment every incomptent institution and governement are freaking out ,and the unqualified assholes are even not able to read numbers straight and put into the right context.meanwhile stay safe bro.
Madbat
I keep wondering about what the real infection rate is here, meaning all the untested cases wandering around infecting people. More testing testing does not mean more risk, it means better data and a more realistic knowledge of what's in your communities.

Excellent work!!!
Bad-Wolf
Awesome! Has a silent hill feel to it. I like it.

This warrior has known both victory and injury, triumph and loss. The subtleties of color and atmosphere in this image, seem to say so much. Very fine work.
