Description

β€œA book is a loaded gun in the house next door. Burn it. Take the shot from the weapon. Breach man's mind. Who knows who might be the target of a well-read man?" Celebrating a century since the birth of Ray Bradbury, one of the great writes of the 20th century. Farenheit 451 of his many works seems particularly appropriate in this age of fake news, media manipulation and cancel culture. M4 Mafioso from DAZ; a bit long in the tooth but serviceable! Marc Mons' excellent reading glasses freebie.

Fantastic concept and an amazing achievement Joe. The statement is great, and even without the words, it speaks loud and clear. This is amazing work. :)

Great job! I'm also feeling a little "Ninth Gate" vibes off this.

Bradbury knew where our future was headed. It's almost spooky to read his stuff these days.

This is a wonderful tribute.

Thanks Lyle. Now that you mention it , it is rather ninth gate!
(though that film was a VERY poor reflection of Reverte's excellent and thought provoking novel, "The Dumas Club")

Super amazing background information.

It’s like laughing at the prediction of Spaceships .

Not so funny when these predictions come true.

Somewhat shivering to say the least.

Amazing tribute to this fantastic author.

outstanding PoV and DoF, I really like how it all steps back to the flames and my immediate thought on reading the title was of course F451; great image

I was lucky enough to meet Ray Bradbury before he passed away (Dragon'Con 1998). This is a wonderful and very fitting tribute – I especially like your use of perspective. Keep up the great work!

PS – are those glasses available here on Renderosity?

Thanks for the kind comments. I found the glasses on Turbosquid; easy enough to find if you google "free spectacles 3d model" or similar.

And its great you met the great man himself... he would be one of my fantasy dinner party guests!

Like the storytelling, even before I read the blurb. Unfortunately many only read today what is on their mobile display, and instead of that widening their perspective the bubble they live in seems to shrink.

So true, and exactly what Bradbury himself foretold.

Great Joe, true words, I bet you saw the same TV-Report on the purity of the white race in the States (my goodness what confused spirits) like me before some days!

Very cool interpretation...and indeed by far one of the outstanding....author's of our time....much like Isaac Asimov....far beyond there time in concept....or an abstract idea at the time.......but not far from how it is, or could be.... the mobile display ...or in Asimov case....the VCR....as he describes....years before it was even conceived.....just one of many....if you read that is.....

"Look Mommy, there's going to be a fire!" One of my favorite lines from a movie...right up there with, "I'm sorry, Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that."
