Charming! Had a look at the larger version on your site and some of the other pages - fascinating, very prolific!

Thank you for the comment! I spent 4 years learning Poser before I ever shared anything publicly, and even then I continued to study everything I could get my hands on (by BagginsBill, D3D, ArtBee, and others). I also spent 2 years learning to model my own props. So now I finally feel like I have an adequate "vocabulary" to make the kind of artworks I've always wanted to make, and that, plus a rather large collection of 1971s' props, has led me to be fairly prolific in the past 8-9 months! I don't know if this pace is sustainable, but I can tell you that I have hundreds of ideas bubbling up and trying to break free, and I am but their willing slave ;-)

The light emission surfaces are great. I would love to know how you did them. A pointer to a tutorial would be wonderful. Really well done.

Thanks! They're not actually emissive, as I hardly ever enable IDL when I render (always in Firefly). It's just too slow and prone to splotches, so instead I "fake it" by using an IBL light that matches the environment, adding ambient color to the item's materials (value around 2-4), and placing a similarly colored point light inside or slightly below, set to inverse-square attenuation with intensity around 30-70%, depending on the scene. The trick is to put the "similar color" in the Inner (top) chip of an Edge_Blend node at 100% brightness and the same color in the Outer (bottom) chip at around 20% brightness, then attach the Edge_Blend node to the Light nodes Color and Diffuse chips (which should be white). The effect of the Edge_Blend node doesn't show in preview, so the item will seem over-lit, but in the render you should see a small, contained "burst" of colored light.

If that's too much to take in via words, I can put together some screenshots. I've been thinking of doing that and posting them on my blog, more of a "here's what I do" kind of thing rather than a tutorial, as I'm not saying what I do is "correct," just that it works for me :-)
