I am the author Lyle Aryn. Writing is my first love, my one true passion. Every since I was able to string a sentence together, it's all I've wanted to do. Websites where you can find my work and more are below.
I started using Daz Studio October 23rd of 2018, just as something to dink around with. I'd been signed up with the sight for a while, and would occasionally remember to check for freebies. I was surprised at what I had when I finally loaded up the program. I just started playing around with it, figuring it out. I'd say about 92% of what I've learned in the program I've learned just by playing around with it.
In December I went from being a dutiful son looking after his mom, to the full-time, no nights or weekends off, caretaker of my Mom. As someone who struggles with depression, anxiety and a mood disorder or two, this change has had a drastic impact on my own personal care and well-being. I turned to my blossoming love of doing digital art as a way to cope with the mountains of stress on my shoulders. I do miniature painting, too. But when you haven't slept in 4 days, handling a brush can be very messy. Not being able to paint to my own personal satisfaction was making this avenue of relaxation increasingly frustrating.
Daz Studio has an undo button that you just don't get with painting miniatures.
As my skill with the program grows, so does my confidence. I did the cover to my fifth novel, "Because the Night" using Daz Studio, as well as new covers for two previous releases. (Though they haven't been updated just yet.)
I'm looking to always improve my artistic work, no matter what the medium, and Daz Studio is no different.

Both versions have their own appeal and I like them both.
I found out quite quick in my dalliance into 3d art, I am often my own worst critic... I think it's like that for all of us, sooner of later. God only knows how many hours I've spent on a "simple" image, trying to get it just perfect in my eyes.
You do outstanding artwork, keep it coming!

Thank you. I try not to move on quickly and accept what is. With this one, though... I had to get it just right! Glad you came by for a peek.

Both fantastic 👏👍🙋♂️Excellent work my friend 😀

I think you did a fantastic job on the shadows. The attention you paid to getting the details just right was worth it.
LyleAryn
Thanks. I think so, too!

I agree the next level. Beautiful... tender and just gorgeous. To sleep with another... let the dreams take over.

They are a fun couple. Just friends. They tried dating, but it just didn't work. But each is there for the other, and they've spent more than a few nights snuggled together. Nothing further than that.
I might have to do another version featuring their love interests. Change the posing a bit, and put Skye and Misty on either side. Hmmmmmmm.
Thanks for having a look! I think the "therapy" art helped, and I should be able to get back to the book today.

Fantastic work! Very beautiful!
LyleAryn
Thanks, Deva. Always a pleasure.

They both look fantastic! Well done in both instances! Nice to have a comparison. Gives a person good perspective.

Yeah. I figure while I don't like "double posting," it was a good call this time. Shows how sometimes going back in for just one more set of tweaks can turn a good piece of art into a great piece of art. Or something like that. I don't pretend to have done anything too spectacular. I like it, but that doesn't mean its actually "great." Thanks for commenting!

I have to agree with you, Lyle, the shadows here really do fall so perfectly in comparison (even though version 1 was still great). There is such a greater richness and depth to this one. I love too how one is more cast in shadow while the other is just being touched by the light. So much to see here. Beautiful work. :)

Thank you. I'm actually completely happy with the piece, which is rare. Though it's not bright, or especially colorful, I think it ought to catch the eye when I start using it to promote the book. I appreciate your kind words. I hope you have a wonderful day. :)

I find the picture stunningly great! The overall effect and implementation is masterly! Absolutely gorgeous... I love it a lot my friend !

Thank you very much. bows I'm hoping it will be a show-stopper when I start spreading it around. I REALLY want this new book to be succesful. I've never illustrated one before, and I got a feeling hat getting it into the storefront is going to be a real pain in the neck. It will be worth it, but I'm just hoping it doesn't end up proving too costly. I'm exploring posting it to Scrib'd instead of Amazon, just to see what happens, but the whole thing makes me nervous.
Which reminds me. I really need to get to editing it.

I think i know where you are at. This is powerful and emotional. It is a very touching piece even if i am reading your thought process wrong. Well done.

Thank you. Art is always up for interpretation. Whatever it means to you has value. I'm just happy you like it. It makes my heart sing to know people appreciate this.

Missed this completely! Yes, it's better. Marginal improvements make a big difference overall, and this has a lot more impact.
Loved the first, REALLY love this one! Top notch work fella!
LyleAryn
Thank you. I'm really glad you came back to comment again. And I agree. It wasn't much change, but it made a huge difference. Have a great day, my friend.

Thanks! I think so, too.

Are they ever really a 'final' image? Judging by my experience.... No! LOL There's always that "one little thing" I need to fix - or so I think..
I really love this wonderful, moody image - both versions. I think this is my favorite of the pair.
LyleAryn
Thank you. It's much like writing. There comes that point where it is as good as you can do, and you have to move on. In this case, I think it's just about right.
