Description

As some of you might know, I suffer from panic disorders. I've never really gone into great detail about my mental health, but I don't really try to keep it a secret, either. It is what it is, and I refuse to be ashamed of it anymore. A week and a half ago, I was in a car wreck. I'm the primary care provider for my mother, and I was driving her car. She wasn't with me - I was out getting groceries. Thank God! I'm ok. Nothing seriously hurt, just hit my knee. The other driver hit the rear axle squarely, so the frame absorbed the hit. The Durango is totaled, sadly. "Fault" is assigned largely to me, because I was turning on a flashing yellow. (I had room. The other driver was in excess of the speed limit. They didn't even try to slow down, so "Fault" isn't fully mine.) Point is, I had a MASSIVE panic attack as a result. And now when I'm behind the wheel, I'm in constant doubt. It's not good. Especially since driving is usually something that relaxes me. If I'm having a tough day, I'll go for a drive and feel better. Right now - not the case. Today I intended to start editing. I drove Mom to her dialysis treatment, and by the time I came back home my anxiety was ratcheted through the roof. I can't edit like that. So I turned on Daz. I even set up a stream, and chatted with a friend I haven't spoken to in a while. And I made this. After setting the scene for the render, I was able to get to work. The model is Catelya. I really like her. I was so excited when she came out! She hasn't seen enough render time, not nearly enough. I just started "doodling" I slapped on a quick outfit so I could switch from "Smooth" shaded to "Texture shaded" (How I get around the no-nudity rule on Twitch) The outfit loaded the glasses, and it sparked the rest. She's a librarian, who also rides motorcycles. A volunteer in her community. Right now she's reading something trashy, just enjoying the sunshine by the sea. There's something about seeing someone read that is sexy. I see a lady on the bus, or sitting on a bench in the park. There's that mystery - what is she reading? There's that barrier - it's rude to interrupt. I don't know. Just one of those things. I got this secret fantasy of one day having the pleasure of my own lady, reclining on the couch with a good book. Grabbing a comforter to join her in the quiet. Sounds nice, don't it? Reading is sexy. Anybody who says otherwise has no taste. ~~LA P.S. I don't say that just because I'm a writer and wish people would read my stuff. Honest! Now go thank your local librarian!

I'm sorry to hear about your car wreck and panic attacks.

I agree that reading is sexy, but I think that's just a subset of intelligence being sexy.

LyleAryn

2:05AM | Thu, 27 August 2020

Hmm, or at least implied intelligence. And it doesn't even matter what it is. Lady reading a comic? BAM! Sexy. Reading a Haynes manual? BAM! Sexy. Reading the form for a restraining order? BAM! Oh wait, I've been served... (j/k)

Thanks. I really like Cateyla. It was kind of neat how just loading a character can inspire a whole scene.

Reading is sexy, I quite agree! Not so much with a Kindle strangely, there is something oddly satisfying about a good "proper" book, real paper and pages. I own a Kindle (for practical purposes), I'm not sexy, so the rule seems to follow!

Excellent scene!

I really shoukd read the books I bought for the kindle. But I still go so many "real" ones.

(Shameless plug. If you subscribe to Kindle Unlimited, considering checking out my books. Regular price ain't bad, either.)

Thanks for commenting! Always a pleasure.

Rendering can be a truly great escape, and I am so glad you were able to feel some relief after setting this one up. I am so sorry about your accident though and hope you are ok. Funny you know that stress made it into the image here too. She's very precariously sitting on that railing, could fall at any moment, trying to do something that relaxes her. Great work, Lyle. :)

Thank you. Art is often a mirror, even if we don't realize it. Thanks for commenting, and for seeing that deeper meaning.

I like your words! I can't read that much because of a (not visible) scar on my right eye. Thankfully, I can still drive and enjoy creating characters in Poser. Awesome character and scene!j

Aww, that stinks! I've been looking into getting my books into audio format, but it's expensive. (Unless you're successful and then they'll do it for a percentage.) Thanks for looking!

I like the pose you have chosen for this particular composition! The POV is excellent! The clear details of your image draws the viewer to what it is that your character is doing. There is a part of me that if the book's text was more clear, I would be curious to want to magnify the image and read a passage from her book. Fantastic image! :-)

I deliberately obscured the print because it's kinda gibberish text from the base model. I almost put together a spread from one of my own books to put there, but then I thought that was being gratuitous. Thank you very much. bows

Thanks. I'm doing better today. And you should check out my newest (Embers in the Rain) if you want "striking." I nearly didn't post it, but since I decided earlier this year to be a voice when it came to mental health, I thought I should post it, and open up about my experiences. Use it as a visual draw.

Totally agree on the reading - which I need to do more of. Just to read, I mean - I'm long past the 'sexy' bit! LOL You really did a great job on this as you always do, my friend! Hope to catch a stream soon - I've just had so much going on, and so much to catch up on - but I'm making progress... 😉

Sounds like your PD is as inefficient as ours... The other guy was speeding, and got off scott free? Not right. At all...

Luckily Geico is pushing. I'm hoping the judge is lenient. The kid was 22, I'm 32, so hopefully my word will carry some weight with the judge. We'll see.

Thanks for stopping by. And seriously. Read where your lady can catch you and see what happens!

I'm still hoping to get my stuff into audio format. It's a process! And even harder when you don't have a bunch of money to throw at it.
