I am the author Lyle Aryn. Writing is my first love, my one true passion. Every since I was able to string a sentence together, it's all I've wanted to do. Websites where you can find my work and more are below.
I started using Daz Studio October 23rd of 2018, just as something to dink around with. I'd been signed up with the sight for a while, and would occasionally remember to check for freebies. I was surprised at what I had when I finally loaded up the program. I just started playing around with it, figuring it out. I'd say about 92% of what I've learned in the program I've learned just by playing around with it.
In December I went from being a dutiful son looking after his mom, to the full-time, no nights or weekends off, caretaker of my Mom. As someone who struggles with depression, anxiety and a mood disorder or two, this change has had a drastic impact on my own personal care and well-being. I turned to my blossoming love of doing digital art as a way to cope with the mountains of stress on my shoulders. I do miniature painting, too. But when you haven't slept in 4 days, handling a brush can be very messy. Not being able to paint to my own personal satisfaction was making this avenue of relaxation increasingly frustrating.
Daz Studio has an undo button that you just don't get with painting miniatures.
As my skill with the program grows, so does my confidence. I did the cover to my fifth novel, "Because the Night" using Daz Studio, as well as new covers for two previous releases. (Though they haven't been updated just yet.)
I'm looking to always improve my artistic work, no matter what the medium, and Daz Studio is no different.

I'm sorry to hear about your car wreck and panic attacks.
I agree that reading is sexy, but I think that's just a subset of intelligence being sexy.
LyleAryn
Hmm, or at least implied intelligence. And it doesn't even matter what it is. Lady reading a comic? BAM! Sexy. Reading a Haynes manual? BAM! Sexy. Reading the form for a restraining order? BAM! Oh wait, I've been served... (j/k)
Radar_rad-dude
Very cool character and fine render! Great job on this one.
LyleAryn
Thanks. I really like Cateyla. It was kind of neat how just loading a character can inspire a whole scene.

Reading is sexy, I quite agree! Not so much with a Kindle strangely, there is something oddly satisfying about a good "proper" book, real paper and pages. I own a Kindle (for practical purposes), I'm not sexy, so the rule seems to follow!
Excellent scene!
LyleAryn
I really shoukd read the books I bought for the kindle. But I still go so many "real" ones.
(Shameless plug. If you subscribe to Kindle Unlimited, considering checking out my books. Regular price ain't bad, either.)
Thanks for commenting! Always a pleasure.

Lovely work!
LyleAryn
Thank you.

Rendering can be a truly great escape, and I am so glad you were able to feel some relief after setting this one up. I am so sorry about your accident though and hope you are ok. Funny you know that stress made it into the image here too. She's very precariously sitting on that railing, could fall at any moment, trying to do something that relaxes her. Great work, Lyle. :)
LyleAryn
Thank you. Art is often a mirror, even if we don't realize it. Thanks for commenting, and for seeing that deeper meaning.

I like your words! I can't read that much because of a (not visible) scar on my right eye. Thankfully, I can still drive and enjoy creating characters in Poser. Awesome character and scene!j
LyleAryn
Aww, that stinks! I've been looking into getting my books into audio format, but it's expensive. (Unless you're successful and then they'll do it for a percentage.) Thanks for looking!

I am proud of you my dear friend, that you telling your problems in your life. And yes creating art make's you feel so much better. I know all about that, as you now. And i love your creatie of this beautiful scene my friend. excellent work....love it.

Nicely done.
LyleAryn
Thank you, ikke. Hope your Friday is pleasant!

I want to meet her
LyleAryn
Just wait until she's done reading to say hello! Thanks for commenting. Always a pleasure!

I like the pose you have chosen for this particular composition! The POV is excellent! The clear details of your image draws the viewer to what it is that your character is doing. There is a part of me that if the book's text was more clear, I would be curious to want to magnify the image and read a passage from her book. Fantastic image! :-)
LyleAryn
I deliberately obscured the print because it's kinda gibberish text from the base model. I almost put together a spread from one of my own books to put there, but then I thought that was being gratuitous. Thank you very much. bows

Not the most striking image....but dose not lack technical prowess and substance.....that's for sure...top work...great scene and character...sorry for your recent experience. do hope your ok with it......never a good thing.....
LyleAryn
Thanks. I'm doing better today. And you should check out my newest (Embers in the Rain) if you want "striking." I nearly didn't post it, but since I decided earlier this year to be a voice when it came to mental health, I thought I should post it, and open up about my experiences. Use it as a visual draw.
STEVIEUKWONDER
This is one class act! Superb finish and choice of clothing rocks!
LyleAryn
Thanks. I really enjoy kitbashing outfits. It can be work, but is almost always worth it in the end.

Great POV and setting
LyleAryn
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoy it. Now, go hug a librarian! (Seriously though, they're doing some amazing stuff right now.)

I am so sorry to hear about all of this. If any amount of talking through this will help. Site Mail me, or we can talk in person. i am no expert but I am a good listener and sensitive to what you must me feeling. Be well and stay safe.
LyleAryn
I appreciate it. I might just take you up on it one of these days. The offer is very much appreciated. You have a wonderful rest of the day.

Totally agree on the reading - which I need to do more of. Just to read, I mean - I'm long past the 'sexy' bit! LOL You really did a great job on this as you always do, my friend! Hope to catch a stream soon - I've just had so much going on, and so much to catch up on - but I'm making progress... 😉
Sounds like your PD is as inefficient as ours... The other guy was speeding, and got off scott free? Not right. At all...
LyleAryn
Luckily Geico is pushing. I'm hoping the judge is lenient. The kid was 22, I'm 32, so hopefully my word will carry some weight with the judge. We'll see.
Thanks for stopping by. And seriously. Read where your lady can catch you and see what happens!

Striking image....

I'm sorry to hear about your car wreck and panic attacks,I wish you all the best.Michael. I loved reading, but my eyes get tired too quickly now that I'm older, so I switched to audiobooks.
LyleAryn
I'm still hoping to get my stuff into audio format. It's a process! And even harder when you don't have a bunch of money to throw at it.
