Description
Wow. It's been what, like 150 years or something since I last made a render and posted it at Renderosity? Thought I'd get back into it. And while I've used Poser exclusively up to now, I'm a little miffed that they never really got the Genesis thing working. Also, they deprecated the newest versions of Poser and appear to have gone back to a version from some years ago. I went to re-download my old digital copy and the company has switched hands and that version is no longer available. So, loyal as I am, I'm switching off to Daz now. It's just easier to deal with. all around at this point.
And when you start over and move from Poser to Daz, you really do a lot of "starting over". So much content doesn't translate well. And most of mine was 6+ years old anyway and no longer looks that good by current standards. Time to spends a bajillion bucks on new stuff!
YAYS! I love new stuff! And I love spending money! Win-win!
So this is the first thing I've rendered in Daz from just fiddling with it for a few days. I wanted to test water transparencies and see if I could make a semi-transparent blood object appear under a semi-transparent water object. I like the way the blood trails off underwater on the right side of the picture. Other than that, there's no rhyme or reason of what this render is about. Aside, of course, from my habit of making semi-nude male characters. That much hasn't changed, at least.
So we'll see what happens going forward. I'd forgotten how fun all of this was.

The effects are great! I found that as long as you use Iray and stuff things into the Environment slot for light, everything works and looks great. The scene lights are uncooperative unless you crank up the lumens to a stupid degree, then they show up. The figures are gorgeous and the clothes fit and drape properly. You can stuff a lot of polys in there. Any image thing..hdr, jpg, bmp, things you paint yourself, or steal from a GIS :D Welcome back!

Great effect with the blood in the water! Welcome to Daz Studio! If you need any help just ask! There are a lot of very experienced DAZ users around here (not particulary talking about my self) and if I can help, Iād be glad to do so.

Great image, excellent effects and a handsome subject! If I had money, I'd love to spend it, but now I'm on Disability, so I'll be mucking around in Poser with M4 and L'Homme until they pry my cold dead fingers from my desktop!!! I might even resurrect David and M2 (and even an occasional M3) eventually. Happy Daz-zling!!!
