Description

The fourth member of our Sky Pirate crew, Daisy! She's big, she's strong, and she's got a heart of gold. You see, back in '98 or '99, I lived well outside of town and had no friends. But I wanted to play D&D. So I practiced making characters. I did not know that I could put the rolled scores anywhere I wanted. I just rolled out stats in order. I think it was a 2nd edition book I was working out of. Anyway, Daisy was born sometime around then. She's an orc Barbarian. She had a 7 intelligence. And an 18 Wisdom. Decent Strength and Con. The book said you wanted good strength and con for barbarian, so I rolled sets until I had one with decent strength and con. Point is, I decided that she was super sweet. Generally thinks people should get along. Never realizes when she's being insulted. But if you did manage to make her angry... Essentially Ive had a version of this character as an NPC in various games I've run, including early versions of the system I've been buidling. And now, naturally, she's the Strong Arm on the Sky Pirate crew. (Strong Arm being a class I'm building for the game.) When she says that she doesn't want to have to throw you overboard, it's because she would actually feel awful about it. The Captain tolerates her "softness." Even going out of her way to protect her. Captain Emeline rescued her from a slave galley, and the "big dumb orc" has been a part of the crew ever since. She's one of only two people allowed to touch the Captain. (The other being Griffen, though for other reasons.) For fighting, she prefers to use her fists if she can't just pick up the troublemaker and give them a shake. Followed by a hug. So. The model is Asthahan for Genesis 3 Female by guaiamustudio Picked her up in the clearance sale. How could I resist? I also picked up the Rogue outfit by Exeter. She ended up with the hat, the boots, and the pants. I retextured the pants. I love the boots. The hat is great. The top... It didn't want to cooperate. In fact, no shirt wanted to the cooperate. I found something that worked, though! (Seriously, if you get this figure, be sure you have Fit Control for Genesis 3. Top is Wicked Way by Bobbie25, Daz 3D, Umblefugly, and Anna Benjamin, with everything but the corset hidden. Got to show off her guns! Got her on an airship, got a backdrop, with the y-axis dropped way down. And tower ruins to help sell the height. And then a fog layer. And then a cat because it was missing something. The fog layer is a different one than I've used in the past, (Distance Fog, instead of Iray Storm) and I think that contributed to a 24-hour render time. I ended it at 50%. Render time for the previous three crew members was less than 6 hours COMBINED, lol. I like it. I should note that I used Mesh Grabber to get her ears to fit under the hat, and then I pulled her face up a bit because I was super tired. But I like the results. If I put her with a smile, it looks like she's snarling. Which works for Daisy. I got the engineer next, and... I posted my picture of the Captain to a discord, and got a request for a commission! I decided to take a crack at it. So I've got to get that done. It's not even fantasy/pirate!
