Description
[Please see the description for SE1 - Getting Steamy for background on this series!]
For this one I don’t mind the "studio lighting" look b/c it’s plausible that the room has light fixtures on the ceiling! If you’re familiar with my gallery you know I’m most definitely not into photorealism. But I apparently have this thing about lights "making sense" in the context of a scene, which I probably picked up from a book on 3D lighting and rendering. I have a few other habits I've picked up (esp. with regard to materials) that come from an "aiming for photorealism" perspective, but I use them in the service of the stylized look I prefer :-)
Rendered in September 2020 in Poser Pro 11 Firefly at 3200 × 1800 pixels, using direct lighting (3 inverse-linear spotlights and an IBL light). Postwork in Photoshop (adjustments in Camera Raw plus frame and sig). View full size on my blog.

Excellent posing! For me a little dark. If I were doing stage lighting for the scene I would have put a soft spot on the phonograph so we would see where the music was coming from. I almost couldn't see it. In a way the phonograph strikes me as almost as important as the dancers. For the dancers doesn't the world just for a moment consist of the music and each other in which case 'realism' has little to do with capturing the moment. Sometimes I like to think of 'painting with light' where you start out with a mental image of what you want the scene to look like and use whatever lights it takes to make that image become real.

Thank you SO much for the kind comments!! The more of these I start working on, the more I realize what a ridiculous amount of clothing I have for V4, but at least some of it's finally getting put to use! At least once through this series, but hopefully again later on. (It would take me many years to exhaust all the content I have for V4, not just apparel but characters, hair, and accessories!)
