Description

We've done many photoshoots on Lighthouse Beach and in many shots we managed to catch the old, abandoned lighthouse in the background there but we recently got clearance and permission to go get a look around inside. We wanna pick a calmer day than today certainly was so we won't have so much fog in the way and the seas aren't this choppy but we'll get there. We might invite one or more from our gallery to come along and have a look around with us when we do go. From what you can see here the ol' lighthouse building is still in not too bad a shape although as we understand much all of the machinery that was inside that made the lighthouse work has been long-since removed but the building is still accessable so folks who want to plan a trip out there can go in and have a look around, at own risk, of course. Those horns we see near the top of the building are not electrical loudspeakers, those horns were part of the elaborate mechanism that used made those horns blast loudly enough during heavy fog conditions to help ships passing by navigate safely. Would be interesting to find out how that mechanism worked, we're gonna find out. Yikes! Looks like the door to the actual lamp mechanism is left open. I wonder if someone is or was up there. We'll also see if we can get up there although it might be one of the more dangerous areas, we'll see. Anyways, this is what we could get today from the boat negotiating the choppy water and the winds. We're gonna get up there on a clearer day soon so you all stay tuned. We're also interested in other artists stories and renders of this lighthouse as well as other lighthouses they have explored and managed to get some cool images of.

Very cool. I love lighthouses for some reason. Must have been a sailor in a past life.

Totally lovely. This one feels like a painting being sold out at a Massachusetts light house. Well done.
