As for the nudity... I'd like to know, too. As I've seen some artists that show stylized (huge) breasts and impossible yoga poses with no problem but had art removed because I put a dimple beneath a thumb where a lady was cupping her breast.

Sometimes the line between "art" and "porn" is thin, and I understand wanting to avoid becoming like DA or Renderotica, but I'm a bit confused as to what the rules apply to. Where is it that the line is defined, as far as Renderosity goes?

About the nudity issue: I guess it really depends on the type of skinsuit you're talking about. Often game engines prefer a single 3D object and a single set of textures, which is technically a skinsuit. So it's not the actual technique as such. However if you can still make out the exact shape of the nude figure, no matter what colour it is, mods can be a bit etchy. I had YouTube thumbnails removed showing grey clad characters, and while annoying, I do get their point. I guess as a rule of thumb, if a skinsuit looks like a simple body painting, it's an issue. If it looks like actual clothing, with displacement or clever moprhs, and not like a body painting, you should be OK.

My 2 cents worth is ... not even close to nude (drat), but I can understand the sensitivity of some about animated characters being nudally suggestive, which seems to me far less objectionable that pubescent teenagers twerking on G rated televised broadcasts.

Great looking "poster," Rod...I have no problem with nudity as long as it actually adds some artistic value to a scene. Nudity for the sake of nudity (actually nakedness) comes from the mind of a juvenile, underdeveloped sense of "art." I can't see that nudity would add anything to your poster.

I used to be one of those guys that just liked a naked chick just for the sake of it, but now I try to make it at least somewhat artistic - i.e. lighting, form, gracefulness - not just 'hey, here's a girl with no clothes on.'

Someone apparently got their Hanes in a wad over what they THOUGHT was a naked alien in radar_rad_dude's story. It was just a figure in a painted skinsuit. I'm just trying to determine where Rendo draws the line.

looking at the TOS would be closer to being correct. I have been told that indentation in the cloth of nipples or pubic area is not nudity by a mod.

These Girls are fabulous and absolutely fine... ooops, did we say Girls? Does that make them minors? I had a very cartoony figure in a bikini taken down because of too much "cheek" and she "looked too young" according to TPTB. In my opinion, bodysuits are clothing. Bikini bathing suits are clothing, too.

Please keep in mind we mods are human. There are close to 200 hundred images uploaded everyday for us to check. Sometimes, we make mistakes. If you think one of us acted in error, please contact us and explain. I understand it can be upsetting to have an image moderated in error. I've been there on another site. But it's more likely to get resolved with a sitemail to the mod rather than posting an angry thread in the forums or an image in the gallery. And also please give us time to respond. We aren't on here all the time.

And to answer the question what is considered nudity, from the TOS "The nudity flag must be checked if the uploaded image shows more skin than the amount you would see when wearing a thong bikini. Nudity flag must be checked if any portion of the female nipple is exposed." This does include clothing that is sheer and often body paint. You can find the TOS here, and there is a link in the about menu at the bottom of every page.
