a strange game where someone in blindfold is walking towards someone sitting high (as if he/she were on a horse). Such mystery. It almost feels like an ancient painting by an ancient indigenous people. ANd your hues are so expressive---that background orange and yellow suggest the walls of an old chamber (ancient egyptian tomb walls have hues a little like this). We'll never know why the guy on the right is sitting so high, or what he's about to give or receive from the approaching person with the b.fold, but it feels like a very strong moment, and that satisfies even without an explanation. COmposed well too---the blocks and lined behind the central person follow the lines of the person. ANd I love the chair high up on the left side, and the colors on the two people. Mythic snapshots in these recent oil pastel works. And lots of oil crayon effects here, to boot!
