I am the author Lyle Aryn. Writing is my first love, my one true passion. Every since I was able to string a sentence together, it's all I've wanted to do. Websites where you can find my work and more are below.
I started using Daz Studio October 23rd of 2018, just as something to dink around with. I'd been signed up with the sight for a while, and would occasionally remember to check for freebies. I was surprised at what I had when I finally loaded up the program. I just started playing around with it, figuring it out. I'd say about 92% of what I've learned in the program I've learned just by playing around with it.
In December I went from being a dutiful son looking after his mom, to the full-time, no nights or weekends off, caretaker of my Mom. As someone who struggles with depression, anxiety and a mood disorder or two, this change has had a drastic impact on my own personal care and well-being. I turned to my blossoming love of doing digital art as a way to cope with the mountains of stress on my shoulders. I do miniature painting, too. But when you haven't slept in 4 days, handling a brush can be very messy. Not being able to paint to my own personal satisfaction was making this avenue of relaxation increasingly frustrating.
Daz Studio has an undo button that you just don't get with painting miniatures.
As my skill with the program grows, so does my confidence. I did the cover to my fifth novel, "Because the Night" using Daz Studio, as well as new covers for two previous releases. (Though they haven't been updated just yet.)
I'm looking to always improve my artistic work, no matter what the medium, and Daz Studio is no different.

A most exotic and sophisticated character! She looks very capable of anything! Don't cross this one or you will pay dearly!

Yesss! I like how this one came together. And nothing in the scene looks out of place! For some reason, I really dig Genesis 2 stuff.

Looks good, but rather dark on my screen
LyleAryn
Hmm. I thought it looked alright. I didn't really do any post work, either. Maybe I'll play with it a bit. It was pretty much done just for fun. Thanks for the feedback.

Very nice work, it's fantastic
LyleAryn
Aww! Thank you so much!

It is a little dark, but I like that. The brighter areas (skin, sword etc.) create nice focal points, so it works for me. Plus I'm looking at it on a nice big 4K screen, so I'm seeing all the subtle tonal changes!
Looks great!
LyleAryn
Thanks! Sometimes I do get them dark. I'm actually pretty light-sensitive, so things tend to look brighter to me. I'm glad you like it. The first version I did, the hair looked SOOOO bad, so I'm mostly just happy that the hair looks so nice now.

Very nice looking image, .....it's not nice, it's an amazing looking one!
LyleAryn
Thank you! I did try to do a "lighter" version, playing around with GIMP a bit. Let me know which you like better!

She looks really great, my friend! Sweet render indeed! And that's great news about your friend! These are not good days to be alone. I thank the Ruler of the Universe every day for Jo.
Yeah, sometimes I have to just kick myself in the butt (and that's not easy..... Try it sometime...), and say "Get a BROOM, Rod!" LOL

It's been pretty cathartic, I tell ya. Sort like peeling layers of garbage from my soul or something like that. Less time for renders, but I'm doing my "doodles" to keep an even keel. I got some really special renders planned - once I got time to do them.
daggerwilldo
I like both in this set. The soft subtle lighting is nice to view also.It kind of washes over you. Well done.
LyleAryn
Thanks. I do try. It's not easy sometimes, because people will always tell me to "fix things in post." and my mind doesn't work that way. I'm actually color-blind, believe it or not. I tend to like more contrast in things.

this woman looks Machiavellian
LyleAryn
Thank you. She certainly looks as if she is up to mischief.

Cool title, pose and another lesson in lighting for us newbs!
