Description

Here is the "raw" image with no post-work. I ended up really liking how the filter looked on it, so my previous post is my preferred version. But this is still pretty good I think, and here you may find one more element that you can't see in the final. It's fun because I know it's still there, which makes it spookier in my mind. I might have to do a follow-up. Same set-up, so I can use the same filter, but perhaps move the background element into the edge of the lantern light.... That should be an interesting exercise, because I'll have to actually plan around the post-work. Which isn't my normal flow. But I do think a follow-up is required. Don't you? Enjoy. I know, I know. A double post today! But I appreciate the feedback, and I've learned quite a bit from it. So thoughts are most welcome!

That is actually quite creepy...

Has a real Bioshock feel to it, which I love!

Thanks! It was a case of, "I spent time on this and like how it came out. But ooo... this filter is awesome!" So. Two versions. And both I like a lot. But yeah. I think now that I know what that filter does, I'm going to try to do a follow-up.

Thank you! Its neat how a simple filter can completely change the story of a scene.

I like this version as well. They both are done well and have an individual feel to them

Thank you. Kind of an early John Carpenter look, methinks.

Yeah, just a tad bit of spookiness here, but this is great as well! I'd definitely like to see a follow-up! I find it fascinating to get a peek into other artists' eyes as far as how an image is created.

Thank you. I find I enjoy discussing the process.

I also find, other artists tend to like that as well. As a render artist, I'll often look at a piece, and think in terms of setup. Some images just make me go WOW and I can't even comprehend how it was done. Some pieces you can tell certain things in a glance. Like, "I know that pose/character/outfit!" Or if the artist is using the headlamp, versus mesh, versus spotlights.

I find it all enjoyable. And I get more out of looking in the gallery then I ever did trying to follow tutorials!

You really have created a fine sense of isolation here. It exactly matches the astute selection you made with the uniform!
