I am the author Lyle Aryn. Writing is my first love, my one true passion. Every since I was able to string a sentence together, it's all I've wanted to do. Websites where you can find my work and more are below.
I started using Daz Studio October 23rd of 2018, just as something to dink around with. I'd been signed up with the sight for a while, and would occasionally remember to check for freebies. I was surprised at what I had when I finally loaded up the program. I just started playing around with it, figuring it out. I'd say about 92% of what I've learned in the program I've learned just by playing around with it.
In December I went from being a dutiful son looking after his mom, to the full-time, no nights or weekends off, caretaker of my Mom. As someone who struggles with depression, anxiety and a mood disorder or two, this change has had a drastic impact on my own personal care and well-being. I turned to my blossoming love of doing digital art as a way to cope with the mountains of stress on my shoulders. I do miniature painting, too. But when you haven't slept in 4 days, handling a brush can be very messy. Not being able to paint to my own personal satisfaction was making this avenue of relaxation increasingly frustrating.
Daz Studio has an undo button that you just don't get with painting miniatures.
As my skill with the program grows, so does my confidence. I did the cover to my fifth novel, "Because the Night" using Daz Studio, as well as new covers for two previous releases. (Though they haven't been updated just yet.)
I'm looking to always improve my artistic work, no matter what the medium, and Daz Studio is no different.

That is actually quite creepy...
Has a real Bioshock feel to it, which I love!

Thanks! It was a case of, "I spent time on this and like how it came out. But ooo... this filter is awesome!" So. Two versions. And both I like a lot. But yeah. I think now that I know what that filter does, I'm going to try to do a follow-up.

Thank you! Its neat how a simple filter can completely change the story of a scene.

I like this version as well. They both are done well and have an individual feel to them

They really do, don't they? I'm glad you like it, and I hope you look forward to the follow-up!

Lighting draws you in.. great work !!

Thank you. Kind of an early John Carpenter look, methinks.

Yeah, just a tad bit of spookiness here, but this is great as well! I'd definitely like to see a follow-up! I find it fascinating to get a peek into other artists' eyes as far as how an image is created.

Thank you. I find I enjoy discussing the process.
I also find, other artists tend to like that as well. As a render artist, I'll often look at a piece, and think in terms of setup. Some images just make me go WOW and I can't even comprehend how it was done. Some pieces you can tell certain things in a glance. Like, "I know that pose/character/outfit!" Or if the artist is using the headlamp, versus mesh, versus spotlights.
I find it all enjoyable. And I get more out of looking in the gallery then I ever did trying to follow tutorials!

You really have created a fine sense of isolation here. It exactly matches the astute selection you made with the uniform!

Thank you. Chasfh's work has inspired some great renders, doncha think?
