I am the author Lyle Aryn. Writing is my first love, my one true passion. Every since I was able to string a sentence together, it's all I've wanted to do. Websites where you can find my work and more are below.
I started using Daz Studio October 23rd of 2018, just as something to dink around with. I'd been signed up with the sight for a while, and would occasionally remember to check for freebies. I was surprised at what I had when I finally loaded up the program. I just started playing around with it, figuring it out. I'd say about 92% of what I've learned in the program I've learned just by playing around with it.
In December I went from being a dutiful son looking after his mom, to the full-time, no nights or weekends off, caretaker of my Mom. As someone who struggles with depression, anxiety and a mood disorder or two, this change has had a drastic impact on my own personal care and well-being. I turned to my blossoming love of doing digital art as a way to cope with the mountains of stress on my shoulders. I do miniature painting, too. But when you haven't slept in 4 days, handling a brush can be very messy. Not being able to paint to my own personal satisfaction was making this avenue of relaxation increasingly frustrating.
Daz Studio has an undo button that you just don't get with painting miniatures.
As my skill with the program grows, so does my confidence. I did the cover to my fifth novel, "Because the Night" using Daz Studio, as well as new covers for two previous releases. (Though they haven't been updated just yet.)
I'm looking to always improve my artistic work, no matter what the medium, and Daz Studio is no different.

Thanks! I'm actually surprised with how well it turned out. Glad you like it.

LyleAryn
Thank you!

Wow is right! That's bloomin' awesome my friend, beautifully done scene that really packs a punch!
Thanks for playing, I'm glad you like the new bits!

Indeed. I think that lantern is going to get quite a workout, and I also think the suit itself will fit in nicely with some of the steampunk stuff I have planned. It fits in nicely here, so I think I've got to do a scene with my favorite Rocketeer in the near future. Hmmm... Kind of like Centurions, maybe... add in Spacegirl too... gets lost in possibilities

amazing work lylearyn
LyleAryn
Thank you Brain! I hope you are doing well.

excellent scene, great light!
LyleAryn
Thank you! 90% of the light is coming from that lantern. There's also a spotlight, but it's set very soft, just to enhance the effect of the fog and light up the backdrop just a bit.

Very nice! I think that is would be better to get that background element a bit more out.
LyleAryn
Thanks. I'm doing a follow-up now. Because I like this filtering, and because I want to be spooky for once. Should be interesting to see how it works out. I guess this week I'm experimenting with art flow and post-work!

Amazing !
great lighting.
LyleAryn
Thank you! I really like this lantern. I did up the luminosity a tad, but with the fog I think it just works this way, and I didn't need much from a spotlight to fill out the scene.

OkrimSlava
very well.

Thanks, Okrim!

This really does have that deep-water feel to it. The dark background really adds to the feeling of being deep enough that no sunlight penetrates. And it has that spooky feel of "what else is out there?"
Superbly done!
LyleAryn
Definitely! I got a follow-up rendering now. First time I'm actually planning for a filter, so I hope it turns out!

Such a fine atmosphere here. Really lovely work!
LyleAryn
Thank you. I like both versions, tbh. And with the follow-up, it tells a neat little story.

This is my favorite of this set. The lighting is very well done and gives an added sense of mystery I think.
LyleAryn
Thank you. I agree! I like it a lot, myself.

very beautiful lighting, we feel the claustrophobia of the depths

Thanks. I'm just glad it turned out so nice!
