I am the author Lyle Aryn. Writing is my first love, my one true passion. Every since I was able to string a sentence together, it's all I've wanted to do. Websites where you can find my work and more are below.
I started using Daz Studio October 23rd of 2018, just as something to dink around with. I'd been signed up with the sight for a while, and would occasionally remember to check for freebies. I was surprised at what I had when I finally loaded up the program. I just started playing around with it, figuring it out. I'd say about 92% of what I've learned in the program I've learned just by playing around with it.
In December I went from being a dutiful son looking after his mom, to the full-time, no nights or weekends off, caretaker of my Mom. As someone who struggles with depression, anxiety and a mood disorder or two, this change has had a drastic impact on my own personal care and well-being. I turned to my blossoming love of doing digital art as a way to cope with the mountains of stress on my shoulders. I do miniature painting, too. But when you haven't slept in 4 days, handling a brush can be very messy. Not being able to paint to my own personal satisfaction was making this avenue of relaxation increasingly frustrating.
Daz Studio has an undo button that you just don't get with painting miniatures.
As my skill with the program grows, so does my confidence. I did the cover to my fifth novel, "Because the Night" using Daz Studio, as well as new covers for two previous releases. (Though they haven't been updated just yet.)
I'm looking to always improve my artistic work, no matter what the medium, and Daz Studio is no different.

Thank you, Traces!

Looks great, tried doing the layering thing myself for really large multi-character and crowd images, but it always comes out looking flat. Guess I'll keep on trying until I finally get it.
Wonderful image, very well done.

I've got one I'm planning with at least eight characters. The trick will be in getting the order right, and figuring out shadow placement. I want to learn how to so some things in GIMP to help that along.

Oof, don't mess with her! Top work...

Indeed! Anybody got the guts to jump off a ship with mechanical wings with a blunderbuss and a sword is probably somebody you want on your side of the battlefield.

Long way down if she misses....nice scene as always.

Big risk for big booty!

Another wonderful character creation.
If i might make a small suggestion, you might experiment with giving the figures a little more space to "breathe" in the frame and not crop quite so close so that extremities (or in this case the sword tip) get truncated...
LyleAryn
Thanks for the suggestion! I'll keep it in mind.

Very nicely done. The idea of working in layers is a good one. I have found that shadow matching can be nicely achieved using sun and sky settings.I admire the detail each character gets with you. Each one has a backstory that makes him come alive. Well done and I hope to see many more.

Thank you. I'm practicing hard because I have a super complex scene to do, and I'm pretty sure my computer couldn't do it in one go. In a few months, I'll be able to start building a new PC. I've been tempted to pick up the graphics card first, and pop it in this machine. But honestly the hard drive and memory are the real bottlenecks.

Fantastic work on her, sir! You really pulled out all the stops on this - and the lighting is perfect!
Little to no sleep is not a big problem when you only have 6 functioning brain cells left. Trust me on that.... 😄

Yar, indeed. Been a lifelong condition, I'm afraid. And the medication I'm on, turns out, isn't helping. I gotta talk to a doctor about it... yay.
Thanks for the feedback! Hope you have a wonderful day.
