She now has an official last name. Beznă, Romanian meaning: dark/gloomy/midnight. Here is her everyday sort of look, inspired by a bit of RP. She was going with a classmate to get payment out of a vampire, so the Castlevania shirt is a subtle dig. It wasn't until they were on they're way that she learned that the particular vampire they were going to see was her own sister. And, even though she's afraid of her sister... in an odd turn of events, she came out to her. I wasn't expecting it, the GM wasn't expecting it. I was in the character's head. She hadn't told ANYBODY that she was gay, so the secret was part of why she's so grumpy. (She comes across as a bit mean, so far.) I'm loving this character so much! Though I'm going to *try* and render somebody else now. Lol. I've been bouncing between game stuff, so it must be time for another artsy piece, right? I think the rapier is going to play a bigger part. Like, she's actually from outer space. I think maybe she was found with the sword, and when her adopted father gave it to her, it was because he understood it was part of her heritage. Maybe it will act as a focus for her powers. Could be cool. And gives me an excuse to render a glowy sword in the future. Now, for the details. Obviously, I added the Castlevania art to the shirt. It's X-Fashion Sophisticated Jacket Outfit (Top) Jacket and boots are from Classic Bikers and Classic Bikers Two. The pants are from the Blue Angel for G3f and G8F from RPublishing. I opened up the base texture in GIMP, made it black and white, and then lowered the brightness to get a faded black denim look. I rather like how it turned out, myself. The sword is Falcontruth's, again. This time with the included belt. This time I did the hilt a little different, not entirely with hot it turned out in the last one. I think this is better. Vintage Enamal shaders for the scabbard, and gold shader from Homestyle Shaders Two. I found a neat silhouette of Dracula's Castle from Castlevania online, and turned it red. Then added in the Castlevania logo. I wasn't sure it would look good, but now I want a T-Shirt like this, lol. Should be up to commenting later today or tomorrow. I know, for a while there I was leaving comments on EVERYTHING! If the sitemail was working, I probably still would. It's set in 1993, which is a lot less enlightened than today, let me tell you. As she conversed with her sister, she just... couldn't keep the secret anymore. She still hasn't said anything about her powers, but she did tell her sister that she was gay. It played out over several tense moments as she worked up the nerve And me... well, the GM does come from a conservative family. I'm sweating bullets because I don't want to make him uncomfortable. Yet, I'm also in the character's head and can't really stop it. I swear... I'm not role-playing. I'm channeling spirits. Her sister just says, "I'm a vampire. You really think that kind of thing bothers me any more? Life is too long not to have fun. I thought you were going to tell me you have powers or something..... But I will say boys are way easier to play." She laughs. Like... pretty much perfect response. And we talked about it later. He surprised himself, and that? THAT is awesome. Because, folks. It's a mark of progress. Pretty sure if that scene played out and it really was 1993, I'd probably be shown the digital door. Peace!
