Description

Here’s a little experiment I tried last night (late last night..), and I’m pretty pleased with the result. How many times have you seen a face, and wanted to tweak Vicky’s (or LaFemme’s) head / face morphs to resemble that face? (I’m speaking mainly to Poser users, for this technique. For DAZ users, ‘FaceGen’ is an app that works quite well for this). There is an app called ‘Blacksmith’ that will work reasonably well. I’ve used it before with fairly good results, but I’ve never been totally satisfied with the results. I got the idea for this a while back and decided to give it a try. If there is enough interest, I can put together a short tutorial on how I did this. One caveat is you need to have one of the later versions of Photoshop that has the 3D features. Basically, what I did was this: I used a face (the picture she’s holding) I made while messing around in Artbreeder some time ago. I opened the face image in Photoshop CC and made a 3D “postcard” – which is essentially just a flat plane with the image on one side. I saved it as an .obj file, with the image texture. I opened up Poser 11.3 and loaded the default V4. I imported the .obj file, and brought it front of Vicky (on the Z axis). I went into the materials tab, selected the ‘postcard’ obj, and adjusted the transparency down to around 50% so I could see V4 behind it (using the face camera). I then re-sized the postcard size to match Vicky’s face as closely as possible. From there it was just a matter of tweaking the dials to get the eyes, nose, mouth, facial structure, etc. to match the face image as closely as possible. There are some slight differences, but overall, I think it turned out pretty well for a first try. I’m going to try a couple more radical faces soon.. I might try seeing how close I can come to Ahsoka Tano’s face next.. As always, thanks so much for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments and support! Quite the delightful and amazing close result, Rod! I don't have any recent Photoshop. Version 7.0 is where I reside. Living with the hard drive limitation is quite a hassle too! LOL! But somehow, I continue! Thanks for your comment on my recent argyle sox boy! Yeah, I never looked quite like him either, but I used to be a lot slimmer! LOL! Wish there was a market for the spare tires we create as we get older!

very realistic result and her skin is so touchable. she is gorgeous.

Poser 12 has an app for using a photo for La Femme. I purchased it when it had a big discount. I hope when I install a runtime, I can make use of it.

Great image, I have tried both Headshop for DAZ and free hand morphing to get varying results one of the problems I have found is textures often obscure all the hard work, though I understand Headshop has improved greatly since the version I bought. I love your attempt, it is fantastic.
