I enjoy creating artwork in Poser, Photoshop CC, Vue, and DAZ Studio. I also have a passion for photography, and have been actively shooting for many years. I've been using Poser since Version 8, and am also learning my way around DAZ Studio. I've been using Adobe Photoshop since version 4. I also use Vue 10. I frequently use my photos as backgrounds, and composite my 3D figures into them.
I have been creating my web comic / graphic novel "The Girls From T.N.A." since fall of 2009, and have been a member of Renderosity since August 2009. I've made a lot of wonderful friends here, and have been inspired every time I visit!
I will soon have a more complete biography, as I am updating everything. In the meantime, have a look around my gallery!
Thanks!
Rod

Condolences, Rod!!
Anything below 75 or so is too cool for my tastes!

Mine too! Brrrr.....
Radar_rad-dude
Sorry to hear of your work environment problems! I hope and pray to the gods of creativity that you fine a better place that provides a very fine and comfortable work space for you! Nice photo btw but I am shivering looking at the temp.

I do like it cool in my apartment, and when I moved in I turned off all the radiator heat valves...my mother was European and only had fireplaces and such for winter warmth. She kept our house in upstate NY in the mid to high 60s during the winter. But with all that being said, temps in the 50s in a house even for me is beyond the pale :) Get an electric blanket and wrap yourself in it while you are in the basement...drinking some hot liquids also can help...

Harsh environment makes for great art. The artist must suffer! .... or, you could get a space heater.
RodS
Tried that with several different ones.. This room is really too big for those to be very effective... All they seem to do is keep me up and moving when the trip the circuit breakers... LOL
Ah, yes..... An artist's life..... I still have both my ears, though..... 🤣

You have my sympathies. My basement is just as cold. I don't use my office down there because of it. Have you looked into a heated office chair? They're more for muscle stiffness, but maybe they'll work

That's a cold room, I'm sorry you're uncomfortable. Electric blanket? Hot water bottles? Finger-less gloves (so you can still work on the computers)? Hand warmers? I dislike the idea that people are cold, it makes me sad. I hope you find comfort, somehow.

COLD
I know what is it :)
tomorrow will be -21f
RodS
Arrrrrrrggggh! That is tooooooo cold!

I know what you mean. the floor plan of my house's master bedroom is always cold. when I have helped neighbors, I asked them if their master bedroom is cold during the winter and all agree. I think the outside wall has no insulation. I turn down the thermostat to 68 at night so the heater will not come on, but Thursday through Sunday you can bet it will be on. 15 F was in the forecast, but they raised it to mid 20's. Bodie will be sleeping in the laundry also!

I don't envy you my friend, I wish you better temperatures 🙋♂️👍

That's a bit chilly! I agree you might do better with an upstairs studio.

It’s tough to render in mittens. Yikes to be there for hours... I feel your pain.

brrrr...stay warm!

This year has been unusually colder all throughout the United States! Even here in San Diego, Calif. Its's been colder...nothing compared to the rest of the country! Best wishes in that you soon continue your art work with much more confort! :-)

That is way too cold for my tastes. As it is, I woke up this morning, 10 Feb, to 62F in my bedroom. 68F is about as cool as I want, but anything below that is too cold. Stay warm, if you can.

I know how u feel Rod, I reside in a basement myself and are cold a lot myself. yes way too cold. but better then being outside, a friend of mine is homeless and suffers a lot during the winter season. thanks for sharing.. I use a space heater right under my computer desk and it does help.

Sorry to hear, my friend... I hope you are able to stay focused on your art! I would try a space heater & a humidifier on a dedicated line, with nothing else plugged in. The electrical wiring in the wall are probably the older, 14 gauge, so the breaker is probably 15A to keep things safe. I imagine you have 20A line too for major appliances so that's the one you want to hook up your space heater too. Try some plastic film in windows too, it helps. Best Wishes!

Sorry to hear that. I'm sitting here in front of my screen and it's 73 ° F here in my room, outside it's only 10 ° F.
PhthaloBlue
Ouch! Sorry to hear your basement is so cold - hope you can find a solution.

I do not like the cold either. I had a situation like this one, been a while now, but I was in a basement and could not get warm. What I did was put a rug on the floor underneath my chair, basically in my work space. Than I made a frame around me, just sort of a screen, it can be made with blankets even but I just used old carboard. You need a top too, so do not forget that. basically you are boxing in your work space. Then your space heater has half a chance warming you up. It did pretty good for me. It was nothing fancy but it did the job.

50? Sounds good to me.... but then again, I'm crazy.
RodS
I am too, but it only gets worse when I get brain-freeze.... 🤣

50 is cold!! I turn on the heater at 65. 🥶

That's pretty cold to be just sitting and trying to get some work done. No fun. Don't know your situation, but when we installed the recording studio we got an old cast iron water heater from the 40s 50s and looped the baseboard heating from the upstairs through it. Luckily it has a lever/valve to adjust the water flow. That iron beast could make the room unbearably hot if left running.
RodS
Ohhhh - I NEED one of those! 😄

I love seeing what might be called "old technology". Your thermostat, I believe, dates from the late 50's to the early 60's. And of course, it uses the old "Fred" scale as we say in Canada. I take it that it was part of a larger device at one time, the thermostat now being the only part which functions reliably. It looks like I wouldn't be out of place on the dash of some classic era convertible.
Hmmm, 52F is about 11C. About the temp of a nice spring day. Though not a temp you could relax in your shorts. Though in Canada we would drive with our windows down on such a day.
romangirl
It's 64 in here, and I'm cold! Gotta lower the electric bill.
RodS
They're starting "rolling power outages" here to help conserve power (so they say). Great... 🙄 It's not enough we have this damn pandemic to deal with...
ikke.evc
That's cold. Minimum temperature in house is around 60°F (night) and 68°F when there's somebody home and most of the time higher. I was thinking about using my basement, but it's too damp in the summer and cold in the winter and too low all year round.

There is a nice waterfront 6 doors down from where we live. If moving to a state with no state income tax is on the table, I would be happy to see the place and send you video or even live stream it to you. Let me know, you have my number.

Ugh, I'm late answering this, Rod, but I truly hope you find a peaceful solution soon. Thinking of you and Jo. :)
