I am the author Lyle Aryn. Writing is my first love, my one true passion. Every since I was able to string a sentence together, it's all I've wanted to do. Websites where you can find my work and more are below.
I started using Daz Studio October 23rd of 2018, just as something to dink around with. I'd been signed up with the sight for a while, and would occasionally remember to check for freebies. I was surprised at what I had when I finally loaded up the program. I just started playing around with it, figuring it out. I'd say about 92% of what I've learned in the program I've learned just by playing around with it.
In December I went from being a dutiful son looking after his mom, to the full-time, no nights or weekends off, caretaker of my Mom. As someone who struggles with depression, anxiety and a mood disorder or two, this change has had a drastic impact on my own personal care and well-being. I turned to my blossoming love of doing digital art as a way to cope with the mountains of stress on my shoulders. I do miniature painting, too. But when you haven't slept in 4 days, handling a brush can be very messy. Not being able to paint to my own personal satisfaction was making this avenue of relaxation increasingly frustrating.
Daz Studio has an undo button that you just don't get with painting miniatures.
As my skill with the program grows, so does my confidence. I did the cover to my fifth novel, "Because the Night" using Daz Studio, as well as new covers for two previous releases. (Though they haven't been updated just yet.)
I'm looking to always improve my artistic work, no matter what the medium, and Daz Studio is no different.

cool style, very well.
LyleAryn
Thank you. I'm glad you are enjoying it.

Again, I love it, but the first is the best! By a substantial margin in my opinion!
Each has merits and a place where it would work perfectly (your titles fit too!), but the first just brings that "old school" action hero feel in spades.

And since that was kinda the whole point of the original Rocketeer Graphic Novel (which came out in the early 80s!) I take that as a great compliment.
brain1969
awesome idea to do that in mono
LyleAryn
Thank you.
Radar_rad-dude
Excellent presentation! This really ROCKS, or should I say Rockettes? A marvelous creation and fine realization! Many fine kudos!
LyleAryn

Looking good.....its a very hit or miss..in any subject matter B&W...but it works here nicely....class vintage image...!!
LyleAryn
Thank you. I remember when my Mom did B&W photography. A lot has to go into that, to get it right. Heck, they used to never use white on old TV programs because it messed with the final result. That's why the color "TV Yellow" exists - it looks "white" in Black and White.
Glad you see you, my friend.
eekdog
all three versions are most super.

It's hard to pick a favorite. This is the one I chose to post on Instagram, but it came down to the wire.

Very beautiful! Great scene, superb B&W. Work well done. 👍🙋♂️
LyleAryn
Thanks, Saby!

Of the two b/w images I prefer this one.
LyleAryn
Thank you for the feedback.
KarmaSong
Excellent ! This reminds me of Edward Hopper's artistic works, in some way.
LyleAryn
Thank you. I'll have to look him up.
LyleAryn
Oh. Cool. I've seen his work, and I'm sure I heard the name before. That is a nice compliment. Thank you.

I tend to gravitate to this one of the 2 B&W images. For some reason I like the crisper, slightly more contrasty feel this has. A most fascinating exploration of styles.
LyleAryn
Thank you. Yes, I have learned quite a bit from these, and spending THREE DAYS going back and forth between Daz studio and GIMP. But, I think I nailed my style down and it's off to the story!
daggerwilldo
It looks super. I love this new style you are experimenting with.
LyleAryn
Thank you. Been experimenting most of the week now, but now I got something started with the comic. The goal is 32 pages. I'm going to storyboard it out, because I think I got a plot now. See what happens, because when I write a novel, I typically find that the characters take over.
