Just wanted to let Courtney stop by and let everyone know - yes, I'm still alive and kicking. I've just got a million things going on... Hope to get back to a bit of calm in the next few days. Or is that daze? Oh, well..
Getting $ome plumbing i$$uses taken care of from that deep-freeze last week. I'm having to rework the basement restroom - again - after a pipe rupture. It wasn't a major one, but had to get some piping replaced, and of course it had to entail ripping out the back wall - again. And parting with a bit over $600. So much for that last stimulus check...
Another disturbing situation... I went out back a couple days ago, and discovered the local vagrants are starting to set up camps in the wooded / drainage area that runs behind my house. It's still a couple houses to the west of me, but it's getting too close for comfort. I'm sorry these people have no place to live, but I don't particularly want them - and all their trash - in my back yard. There are shelters all over the city for these folks.
We really, really want to get out of this area....
Anyway, I'm sorry for the spottiness of my posting and comments lately, but I hope to catch up in the next few days. I am (slowly working on the next few pages in the T.N.A. story.

so many vagrants do not want to live somewhere. they want their freedom to not pay rent, etc. I knew several painters that were without a home much of the time. they were good workers most of the time. another contractor I knew one particular painter and he told me in California, he was paying him $5000 per week most of the time. come Monday, he would not have a penny in his pocket from drinking. come Monday, I would have no idea where he would be like other ones also

We have 150 ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS living in a Hotel up the road from us, paid for by the Government!
That is, a FOUR STAR HOTEL FULL BOARD AND ABOUT $70 to spend per week!
The last contingency caused $70,000 of damage to that hotel!
Burglary figures have soared since they arrived also!
I FEEL for you, Rod! They should be "eased" out of the area!
Your lady is so seductive! Pity you can't get her to lure those vagrants away from your home territory!

A lovely render and I am sorry to hear about the problems with the homeless. While I feel for them, I also know there are avenues for some of them that are far better than living where they are now. i hope you can convince city officials to intervene and get them on a path that can make life better for them. I read a story from California about what happens when vagrants start moving in next to a neighborhood. It's not good. If the city won't move them (somewhere safe for you and them), then yeah, time to go. They have hit rock bottom and are desperate, it's only a matter of time before the break-ins start.

She is beautiful! Your art is always a pleasure to view! It's unfortunate that you are having to deal with the issues at home! Homelessness seems to be getting worse all over the country. I live in San Diego where the climate is warmer and that in itself has caused a migration of people fleeing the cold regions of the US and coming to this city. I am afraid as time goes on, the splendor that this country once had will diminish further due to the economic environment these persons find themselves in. Our infrastructure is slowly crumbling and without further government intervention...it will eventually get worse! There is still time to do somtething...but time is running out!

C's posed for a magazine shoot, here, pressing the pole of that window panel with one knee and with her hands: terrific studio stuff.
