Very nice picture, which takes us back to a great time when we didn't have to spend millions to have fun in car races.

I just can't watch the NASCAR races on short tracks. To me they end up looking like a two hour demolition derby. Talledega, Daytona, Brickyard and Atlanta, plus other longer tracks are what I tend to watch. Racing was very different back then.

This reminds me of the local scene around here, although around here meant dirt-track and low, low budget race teams. Still it was a fun time for a kid. A very fine photo capture.

Cool photo, Richard. I can almost hear the roar of their engines.
